Absolutely!
Thanks for sharing what you heard about VT in comparison to Auburn. My son was admitted to both (so fortunate given this crazy year) but he is anxiously awaiting Auburn decisions for his friends-most were deferred. We are from NJ and hoping at least one local student will join him. The interest in AU is strong. In his small senior class of 190, 30+ students applied to Auburn.
My daughter just got an email with an acceptance!!! It has been such a long wait. Good luck to all!
My daughter and her boyfriend were both deferred, they both received emails tonight accepting them for Spring 2023. Have they done this in the past? My daughter is pretty disappointed as it was one of her top schools and she doesnāt want to wait.
My son just got the same on spring 2023. Iām not sure if itās new or not, though.
Same here. Deferred then accepted for Spring. Auburn was her #1 and sheās anxious to get started in the fall so not sure she will wait. Would love to hear anyoneās experience with spring start if you have other students!
My son also got Accepted to Spring. How and will you see financial aid? Donāt know where to access it.
Yes same here - initially deferred and now accepted for spring 23. Not sure what this all entails. What do kids do for the fall?
Same with my daughter. Hasnāt even heard back from Wisc, Ohio State, nor Auburn (until last night)* deferrals but a few weeks ago she just said screw it and signed on with Arkansas. Weāve been totally pumped, especially with the sports going on right now.
*last night she was accepted to Auburnā¦but starting spring of 23
I donāt know that Auburn has done it before so I think it would be good to go directly to them to see how they will try to handle it, but I know that Maryland commonly does a Spring start, so maybe if you go to their website or CC page you can get an idea of how it may workā¦
I wonder if this because of dorm space that the are pushing students to spring.
Maryland has the Freshman Connection program during the Fall for Spring admits that allows students to take classes later during the day and live in the dorms. From what I understand, Maryland mentions Freshman Connection in the admittance letter with the Spring admittance.
I wonder how Auburn is handling housing for Spring admits? And I assume merit is off the table for Spring admits?
I think I remember seeing housing isnāt guaranteed for freshman so that is maybe part of the problem.
Has anyone heard if general or departmental scholarships have come out? Thank you!
We havenāt heard yet, supposed to know mid-March. Hoping for next week!
General and departmental scholarships were released on Thursday afternoon.
Did they email the recipients? Many thanks!
How do you see if you were awarded? Thank you!
Notification was made via the Auburn email account. Can also view via the admitted studentās AU Access. A few discussions on a couple of the Auburn Parent Facebook pages made me aware of the emails being sent on Thursday afternoon.
Thank you!
