Plenty of students have a great experience at Auburn without participating in the honors college. No judgement from me if your kid has no interest or is too burned out to write more essays.
As I said, I may be off base. I was speaking generally. Auburn HC does seem to have a research path, and he is interested in that. I hope there are other avenues for research at Auburn besides the HC. Most of the required essays weāve seen for HCs seem very philosophical. I love my son, and he is highly intelligent, heās just not that type! Iām sure he will make his way whatever he decides to do. On my end, I have decided not to push it with him. Major kudos to the ones who decide to take it on!
Definitely not for every āsmart kidā, but I donāt feel like itās humanities centric. My daughterās roommates are all COSAM or engineering, and it seems like the vast majority in her dorm (Honors) are STEM-related as well. (Sheās currently taking Honors Bio)
There are plenty of research opportunities available without being in the honors college. My son was engineering and participated in the Co op program which also is available to everyone.
The biggest perk of the honors college for my kid was freshman housing. He lived in an apartment in the village with three other engineering students. It was beneficial for him to live with and be amongst other kids who were kind of nerdy and serious about their academics. He graduated from Auburn two years ago, and is still very close to his freshman roommates. He was just the best man at the wedding of one of the guys and a classmate who was a math major in the honors college.
The point of my post was just to highlight that plenty of people start off in the honors college and drop it later on if it doesnāt work for them.
Where did you hear this info? I have not heard that. All Ive heard is we cant submit the score and I had not heard that deferred would accepted on rolling?
You are correct, AP, IB and DE credits are counted along with all course credit hours completed. Sophomore status is achieved after 30 completed hours. I felt that your comment could be misinterpreted that participation alone in the Honors College would give freshman priority scheduling over sophomores.

Seeking adviceā¦. Awaiting decision, submission was after last cutoff.
If you have submitted more than one sat score and just got the oct one backā¦ your overall score is the same better but your super score went up by 10ā¦ would you send over the latest score to boost super score or not?
If your Super Score went UP by 10 points then absolutely log in to your College Board Account and Send the latest test to AU with the increase. AU Admissions computes the āSuper Scoreā for you and then posts it on your application status page. Concurrently, email your assigned Admissions Advisor, which is listed on the Application Status page, and let them know about the score increase. Do these 2 things IMMEDIATELY. Good Luck.
