I'm wondering whats the average ACT score is for Cornell...All I could find about test scores was the percentage of people who got over 650 on each section of the SAT. My SAT score was medicore (740M 660 CR 600W). So I'm hoping my ACT score can help, though its not that much higher. ACT -32. Does my ACT fall in their range?

Also does Cornell superscore the ACT?

they do superscore the ACT...not sure about the average, but I imagine it's different for the different majors.

um... your ACT is much higher than your SAT. Your SAT is a 2000, a 32 converts to like a 2140 or 2160, and they do superscore.

While we're on the subject...what exactly does superscore and how does it effect admissions if a college does superscore? I inferred it to mean that if I get a 33 on my ACT, but my highest score on science was a 34, they will just look at the 34? (Those were actually my real scores) Is this correct?

huh? Matty169, superscore means they take the highest of each section (math, reading, science, english) from all of tests you took (multiple sittings), and average them together.

Oh, that makes more sense. Thanks tree.

25-75 percentile for ACTs at Cornell = 28-32

Of the 20% who submitted ACTS, the distribution was:

30-36 10.0%
24-29 8.0%
18-23 1.0%

The figures are for enrolled students; accepted stats would track a bit higher.

i wonder who those 18-23 people were. i wish i was them.

haha...recruited athletes, URMs, and legacies most likely

Geeze I wonder what those 18-23 people did to get in

31.25 I hate this.

I hope they look at sub-scores too.

bearcracks, CALS range is 26-31, chill out!

Bearcracks: I got lucky. I scored a 31.5 and they rounded it up to 32. Sorry man . . . I hope you get in though.

GAHHHH!!! I HATE the ACTs!!! That stupid science section! If there wasn't the science I would have gotten a 33, but that stupid 25 brought it down to a 31. :( stupid graphs!!!

my alarm didn't go off on the morning of the act's, so i took it as a sign and didn't take them.

The first time I took science it was crazy hard, I had to speed through the last three sections and got a 26, but the second time I took it I finished with like a couple of minutes left over and got 34. Once you get use to it and realize its way easier then it looks, its quite simple.

Haha, ok fine, but what's the average ACT for engineering?

yup, 31.25 here too :-(
