AWPE Test (Need help)

I’m an incoming Freshman to the University of California at Riverside and I have a bit of a problem. Through the summer I’ve missed the AWPE exam dates for various reasons and planned to take the last makeup test of July hoping to get an English placement by my orientation the following week. I payed for the test, I set a calendar reminder for the 29th and I felt set. The problem is it’s the 28th and I just found out that the test was the 27th. Oh boy I screwed up, I know.

My orientation (and class scheduling) is on the 31st of July so there’s no hope of taking it by then but even more worrying is that the next makeup is September 14th, 14 days before the start of the school year.

How will this affect me? Will I not be able to schedule my English course? Will I be placed at the lowest level course for English? I’m freaking out.

You need to ask the people at UCR about this. They are the only ones who can answer your question accurately.

Meanwhile, use this experience as a wake-up call about your calendar skills and your attention to detail. You need a stronger system in place to keep you on track when you do start college.

You cannot sign up for any English courses until you take the exam.

There are exam dates in September.
