If you are rejected from an integrated or accelerated BA/MD or BS/MD program, can you still be accepted to the university for a different four-year major?

Just in case this varies between colleges, the two I really need to know for are Rensellaer Polytechnic Institute and George Washington University.

At least at some schools it is possible to be selected for a BS/MD application and interview and then be rejected by the undergraduate school entirely - this happened to a family member.

Generally this is the result of being overqualified for the undergraduate school but not quite being good enough for their MD track.

At NU Rice Caltech and GW you can be accepted to the college without getting into the program, different admissions. probably true for all colleges.

Definitely with RPI you can, because I was admitted to the undergrad offered an interview but then decided not to go to the interview because I'd changed my mind about RPI.
This is also true for sure at Case Western and Rochester, it happened to several of my now friends at Case and happened to me at Rochester.
