Bad 1st semester for Soph. year, am I on the right track?

As of now, I am only in my second semester of my sophomore year, but my first semester this year was horrible. But I am making it up.

For my first semester my GPA was 2.9
But this semester my GPA will be a solid 4.0, and next year I plan on taking 3 AP courses.

As for my EC's, I am currently the Class President, I am on Varsity Band, I am a leader in JROTC program, the President of the Executive Council, part of the Senate, and am a current volunteer at the local hospital. I am also planning on joining Ladies and Gentlemen of Quality, along with the National Honors Society.

I am also currently planning a Drug Awareness Day in our school, along with food drives, etc.

Now, if I get an average of a 3.8-3.9 GPA (because of my Sophomore Year), and I want to get into UCB, or UCSD, am I on the right track?

BUMP to get a reply.

hmm... man, whats happening? everynow and then i feel heroic and try to rescue a post from oblivion... but im a very HUMBLE person...(just joking so no comments about that) anywa, as long as you have an upward trend, then u really have a chance... at least at some college... anyway, keep up the good work and do well from now on... what did u get for third marking period?

A 3.8or 9 is below average for both schools, but with high SATs (2150 plus) especially IIs (750's), and not a highly impacted major, you have a shot with your good ECs and a good essay.

You will get into San Diego if you keep on improving. Berkeley is a big maybe.
