Also, who has sent a LOCI (Letter of Continued Interest) to Barnard yet?
I did!
I sent in a loci with my recent achievements, but am also planning to send another ‘Why Barnard’ essay that meshes my achievements and reasons for wanting to go
It’s so quiet…
@SuperBigMusicLover You sent in another essay to Barnard as a waitlist supplement? (Sorry hehe just found this thread but also a fellow Barnard waitlister :))
yes, send another Why Barnard! thats what I did when I was deferred ED and I got in RD
@AwaitingApplicant131 Yes, I did! I weaved in parts that I didn’t include in my original app and new accomplishments and tied them into why I wanted to go / how I’m a good match for the college
I did submit one letter of intent after being waitlisted that touched upon new accomplishments and why I still love it/a good match, but should I do another? Maybe explaining more upon why I am a good fit?
@AwaitingApplicant131 That’s what I did. I sent one with recent accomplishments and another “Why Barnard”-like statement.
Hey guys on their common data set, it already has 2018-2019 out, is that referring to our year? Or are we 2019-2020? Probably 2019-2020 since they wouldn’t have been able to get all the stats out so fast yet right?
Also for the 2018-2019 common data set, does anyone know why they didn’t include the number for how many students accepted the waitlist and a thought as to why was the number of accepted was so low?
Barnard has started taking from the waitlist according to another poster.
@vpa2019 on this thread or another one?
I don’t think anyone would be offered a spot off the waitlist until at least May 1, since Barnard won’t know until then how many open spots they’ll have. My daughter committed to Barnard April 19 and she just turned down the acceptances from five universities last night after I reminded her.
@SuperBigMusicLover on the which waitlists are open thread. A poster said her D’s classmate just received an offer off the waitlist. She could be a one off. Many schools have begun pulling from their waitlists already.
I suppose it all depends how many accepted students might had already notified Barnard in recent days that they accepted elsewhere.
I’m happy with the school I am going to deposit at, but this still sucks. It’s still early, but chances are becoming much more slim
@vpa2019 This information conflicts with what Barnard admissions is itself stating, and that is that they won’t be moving to the wait list until after today’s reply deadline. As they are expecting a high yield, I imagine it won’t be until the end of the week or early next week that they actually make offers.
@vpa2019 sorry, but where is that information located? Could you provide the link?
@AwaitingApplicant131 how do I copy a post from another thread? I am only reporting what another poster wrote in another thread. If the admissions office is saying otherwise I’m not disputing what they are telling you. I’m simply reporting what another poster offered: that a friend of her daughter was given an offer off the waitlist. Thread is What waitlists are active? Who has closed their waitlists? post #14
