Mine hasn’t
did your fafsa date change when you were deferred, and then just now change again for the 2nd time?
My DD’s FAFSA date was updated at 2/14, the same day when she received the likely letter. I do not know what it may imply, however.
@eli2001 I did get that email !
And dw ;-; it’s ok these kinda mistakes just slip pass by sometimes !
Anyone’s FAFSA only change to a random date? Cause mine updated to 3/12 but nothing special happened that day so far as I know haha.
Hey does this fafsa date change thing apply to those submitting CSS forms too ( international students) ??
For those of you whose FAFSA date changed, what date did you submit your application
@Selenarahman YUSSS!
Super nervous about the results on Friday!
I know this isn’t the best time to ask this question, but ah since I’m super super nervous, does anyone know if international students asking for a lot of financial aid do get into barnard?
Ah I’ve kept spending the last few days just thinking how much I love the college but I don’t wanna get my hopes high for no reason and just disappoint myself ;-;
Also Good luck to everyone for the decisions ! ?
I had a dream I got an acceptance package in the mail and there was an entire pizza in it :-/
@musemuse that made me laugh hahah!
@Kittywitty - See post 164 in this thread.
@Kittywitty - compared to huge endowments supporting other colleges, Barnard’s funding for financial aid packages is much more limited. They are committed to at least support at-need domestic students, which is why it’s not factored into an admission decision.
However, they simply don’t have the means to do the same for international and/or transfer students. So for international and transfer applications, they have to look at each year’s availability of funds and then are forced to limit how many at-need international/transfer students they can afford to take on in any given year. Consequently, they mostly have to admit international students with ability to pay.
I realize that’s not what you hope to hear, but I wanted you to understand the underlying reason.
@Kittywitty while the person above me is correct, it does happen. It is rare so I wouldn’t say rely on it, but I do know a girl in my year who’s an international student and almost completely funded by Barnard.
@DigitalDad Thank you SOOO much for this informative reply!
Ah and it’s totally ok! At least I know the reality of things now ;-; even if it isn’t something I like of course!
But TYSM for this info, again! It really is helpful to know ! ;—;
@mayaic4 ;—-; Ah it just depends on my luck now so oh well ;~; And TYSMMM!!
@Kittywitty I know exactly how you’re feeling. I’m not letting my hopes get too high but still wishing for the positive and best to happen. Soon we shall know! Good luck!!
Ah EXACTLYYY!! @bookboozer And GOODLUCK TO YOU TOO ??
