Hahaha I am confused because a lot of my friends who live in NYC have not heard back yet. That someone in nj already heard back (which is farther toBarnard than NYC) plus it was a rejection (first class vs priority) does not make sense. They should have heard back by now.

Plus Notakid, the only ppl who heard back were accepted students near NYC and international. You are mistaken that people have gotten physical rejection letters yet.

@music ahhh ok that sounds pretty useful. i completely know how you feel since my gpa is low! it sucks but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. bonne chance!

i am an international student and I haven’t received any email…
Did all international students get emails about decisions?

As I said waaay up in this thread, different mail routes will get the same article at different times and even on different days. It’s happened every year for the past 8 years…people have gotten acceptances and rejections on different days that don’t seem dependent on distance from Barnard. If you have heard nothing by the end of the week, call the admissions office. But I’ll bet most of you will get something tomorrow.

Well count me in when it comes to low GPA… I didn’t have a good junior year academically as I had just moved from Norway and was “learning the ropes” and that hurt my GPA quite a bit… My standardized test score are a little above average so I hope that saves me:/

nondairycreamer, it was not only NYC acceptances that arrived in the mail today. See #169, 173, 180, 192, and 220 for wait list reports. Plus there was the girl in NJ someone mentioned that received the rejection. I assume people are less motivated to report rejections, but they are going out too. There’s no difference in delivery time for priority and regular first class.

Just wondering- is there an appeal process for colleges that have rejected you, and if so, is doing an appeal just a waste of time?

International here.
Email came today (may be yesterday US time).

Accepted. Woke everyone up. Screamed. Cried. Laughed. Called the rest of the family, posted on FB, Twitter and my blog. Cried some more. Got the news to every last friend who cares.
Still can’t wrap my head around it and dread the FA news.

for those international students who received decision emails, was there the decision an attachment to the email or just a link to another website? I haven’t received any email so I am really worried. Thanks.

International student here, got the email this morning. I was waitlisted. There was no attachment in the email, I’ve emailed them back to see how I can secure a place on the waitlist.

Fingers crossed, guys. I want to get into Barnard pretty badly!

The answers I have are I don’t think so, and, yes.

Find a school you will love. Do your best there to get involved and make good grades. Then consider a transfer to Barnard if you still feel it’s where you should be.

Someone asked for my stats, I have a 2000 SAT (710 CR, 590 math, 700 W) and 3.3 GPA but I go to a top notch private school so I think my low GPA is slightly forgiven. I am a research intern and I sent them a paper that was published and a letter from my boss. I didn’t send tax forms in yet, I actually mailed a lot of paperwork yesterday. I have to call today and sort out some paperwork issues though…

Accepted in Michigan! 2260 SAT, 4.34 W GPA, a bunch of APs and ECs. ■■■■■ the Smith/Wellesley admitted threads for my full stats.

Hey guys!
Don’t get too wound up in acceptances or rejections. The colleges do a very good job of selecting applicants based on who they think would fit in at their school. If you don’t get into Barnard, it is NOT a reflection of you as a person. Good luck and I hope to see y’all in the fall! <3

~ Barnard '15

No, no attachment, just a link to the admitted website that was posted somewhere on here earlier. Oh, and an ID to log in when it will go fully up.
No FA notification either.

i know i’m getting rejected so i just want the letter so it’ll be done :(

I got into Wellesley already, so I hope I get good news today…

Waitlisted.

Got the big priority mail envelope in MA. Won’t know what FA is like until daughter comes home from school to open it. A couple of schools have already dropped out of the running due to the cost. Good luck to everyone whichever way your decision goes.
