I’ve narrowed my search down to these two colleges, I love them both. Any input appreciated!

Background: (I am a Bio major, pre-med track. BC has more rigorous academics, but I’m turned off by rumors of the competitive cutthroat environment…Will I be able to get a higher GPA for med school @ Elon? I am also concerned about internships, I know I could get pre health experience in the city of Boston, but elon is so tiny I don’t know how they give students access to all the internships they rave about.)

BC is NOT cut-throat; indeed, just the opposite.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that Organic chem is easy, and that everyone has above median grades (ala Lake Wobegone). Premed is HARD at every college, due primarily to the forced curves of the STEM classes. Plenty of kids in Frosh Chem will already have taken AP Chem and earned a 5, but are repeating for the “easy A.”

But more importantly, these are two very different type schools. Medium sized Uni in a suburban campus, vs. small LAC.

BC is really a no brainer from a overall school and pre-medical program standpoint. The med track is inherently cut throat, so if thats a big issue you might want to look in a different field.

Elon is not a LAC: it is a university of 5,900…just setting that record straight…

For pre-med, GPA is the most important factor for admission to med school; since it is also expensive to attend, undergrad should be the school that is most affordable where you can get the highest GPA
