<p>For the Academic History portion of the UC application, I am supposed to list my classes as they appear on my transcript. So I go through and check them off, but a lot of the classes like "Honors Biology 1,2HP" which has honors in its name, and supposedly is given a GPA boost by the UC, appear as "not honors" in the "honors status column". Does this just mean that i cant get college credit for them, or that they are also not counting these classes as Honors when calculating my GPA, etc?</p>

<p>I have the same problem. I talked to a counselor at my school who said that my sophomore English honors class, while considered an honors class within my school district, has not been approved for and is not recognized as an honors class in the UC system.
I think we’re both out of luck. =/</p>

<p>For the UCs, classes only count as honors if the UC system has specifically approved them. Otherwise, they do not give you a gpa boost.</p>

<p>Yeah, I’ve found that many of the honors classes at my school aren’t considered honors by the UCs. Honors Biology, 9th Grade Honors English, 10th Grade Honors English, etc. were all not honors courses. D:</p>

<p>Most of the 9th and 10th grade classes won’t be considered for the GPA boost from the UCs, unless they are AP. Our AP European History that the 10th graders can take was considered “honors,” but all other honors classes in the early years were not.</p>

<p>We get boost only for Hon English 11 and Hons Pre-Calculus. The rest are for AP’s.</p>

<p>Use the following UC link, search for your school. It will list all classes approved for a-g and for extra point for your school. If the class is not on the list, it is not approved by UC and does not count.</p>
