Berkeley summer school, URGENT plz

UC Transferable GPA: 3.7

Major GPA: 4.0

Major: Interdisciplinary Studies

I'm applying to UC Berkeley this November, and I'm having trouble deciding whether I should take a course this summer at Berkeley.

Its an upper division social theory class that is required for my major (upper division requirement).

I highly doubt I'll get anything lower than a B, but even a B is a little scary considering my improving grade trend.

Pros:

An A would look great.

"Experiencing a Berkeley class"

Fun and Interesting course with helpful professor.

Cons:

IF I GET A B, I'm BASICALLY SCREWED!

At least, I feel like it would screw me over, a B couldn't possible look good among my recent 4.0 streak, and it being so close to application season...

I feel like if I take it, I'm putting myself at risk, since at this point, I have a pretty good shot at Berkeley.

If I get a B, it'll hurt me.

If I get an A, it'll be awesome.

and a C is very, very unlikely.

What do you guys think?

anyone? come on, i thought someone would have an idea of how this class would affect my application sigh...

side remark: you just replied at 12:05 am! You really must want to know the answer ^_^

/random

1 B is not going to be the reason you don't get into your schools IMO. I would do it, with your confidence level. Just make sure you devote all your time to it and don't mess around so you don't even need to think about the hypothetical situations.

Having an upper divisional course will look great-when applying to Berkeley. I don't know if that course, however, will transfer to other schools-even though it is an "all mighty upper div at cal." ;) Your best bet is take it if you want to take it, if you do-work at it and get your A. If not, no harm no foul-keep rolling with your CC courses and apply without it.

that's not even a real major :P

A "B" grade won't harm you, especially in an un-impacted major. Heck, I even e-mailed Haas about getting one B, and they said, "If it is only one B that is causing your concern then you can relax."

Plus, course rigor is taken into consideration.

B's are good

Lostincode, tell me a "real" major. Share yours.

Anyways, thanks for the advice guys, I'm going to go through with it = )
