Berkeley vs. San Diego

Hi, I'm a premed student, and I've been accepted to both Berkeley and San Diego. Both has its pros and cons. Campus-wise, I think that Berkeley will be more fun and social; it will definitely be an experience that I will never get to have. On the other hand, San Diego is probably more quiet and less competitive, which is a better environment if I want to go into pre-med. At San Diego, I have more connections to professors and research opportunities because my dad is an alumni, and he could help me with that. His cousin is also the head nurse at one of the hospitals around there. My parents really want me to go to San Diego, which is probably the better option. I really want to go to med school also, so I understand their point of view. It's just really hard for me to give up Berkeley, because I will never get the chance to go there again. They also want me at San Diego because it's only around 2 hours away from our home, while Berkeley is about a 6-8 hour drive. Any comments or suggestions? Please let me know. Thanks!

are you a transfer student?

If not, how come you haven’t already made a choice?

no, i am not. i originally got into berkeley as a spring admit. i didn’t get into sd though, but i appealed and got in. sd notified me with less than a week before may 1, so i called the ucs and asked what would happen if i sired to two schools. they said that it was okay, but they would send me a letter later asking me to let them know which one i will be attending.

I wouldn’t want to be a spring admit.
