I'm a little confused here, and quite upset.
I was invited to apply for the regents scholarship a few months ago, but chose not to because I somehow go the idea it was for those who held high leadership positions AND needed financial aid. Stupid, but it's done.
I heard if you applied and got an interview you were accepted to Berkeley. Does this mean I've killed my chances by not applying?
I really want to get in to Berkeley, as I've just been rejected from UCLA. Right now I'm very shocked and sad, help?

Not applying for Regents’ does not impact your chance of admission.

Thanks once again Ms Sun.

Still, does getting selected to apply show that I’m being highly considered? Or not?

I was also invited to apply. At the Overnight Host Program for potential Regents Scholars, they told us straight out that we were accepted. If what Ms. Sun says is true, I don’t see why this would change for you. :)

Thanks jsb_hbfs38, I’m super anxious now! Especially since I was admitted to UCSD as “undeclared” instead of bioengineering (it’s super impacted there), I really want to get in to engineering for Berkeley.
prays and crosses fingers

My second daughter is on the same situation. She did not apply for the scholarship. I just found out that she is rejected by UCLA. Although, we are disappointed because my oldest daughter was accepted last year and my second daughter is not (they both have weighted 4.42 GPA unweighted 3.97 and ACT 32 and both rank #1 or #2), but her first choice is Berkely. I am really hope she can get in Berkeley; otherwise, she may have to choose Davis or San Diego.

waittt a minute! So if you were asked to apply for the scholarship that means you are in? Or is it only if you apply to scholarship and get invited to this host program??

I didn’t even know about Regents and I got accepted lol well maybe i did but i just didn’t pay attention

hmmm…
