Best business schools I can get into

I’m trying to get a list of the best possible business schools I have a chance of getting admitted to then I’m going to narrow my search down from there.

Stats:
27 ACT
30 Superscore

3.8 GPA UW

I have around 100 volunteer hours and worked 3 jobs throughout high school but I don’t have outstanding EC’s like most people

Including merit scholarships. I don’t want to go over $40,000 a year

I’m in state Tx and applied and UT, A&M, and ASU

I’d be very satisfied attending ASU but I’m very open to other options

Please throw any ideas or questions in the comments thank you

I know there is a direct admit system with in-state applicants and UT Austin for being in the top 10% of your class, but do they admit you directly to the business school/your major? Are you in the top 10%? If not, then McCombs seems unlikely knowing how competitive it is and your ACT score being on the low side for their business school.

A&M seems like a good match for you. You could try University of Houston as well, I have heard good things about Bauer. There’s Texas Christian Neeley - good business school but not sure if you’d like TCU itself. ASU is not a bad option at all, personally I think University of Arizona has a better business school but to each his own. University of Oklahoma’s Price is also decent.

One thing I should ask - are you willing to branch outside of the south/southwest part of the US or do you want to stay in that general proximity?

I’m willing to go to really anywhere in the US. Honestly I’d prefer to not stay in Texas. I visited A&M and wasn’t a huge fan of the campus which was a huge let down. And no, I’m not in the top 10%

I would look at Miami University (the one in Ohio). You may be able to get the price below 40k and it is a very good b-school.

@billy1224 I second the Miami one. I’m not too passionate about Miami myself (just the atmosphere isn’t for me), but I can vouch that it is worth a look – very respectable business school with great connections in midwest, especially Chicago area.

If you’re not limited in location, TCNJ & MSU come to mind. UGA Terry could be a great option as well, a bit on the reach side for you but definitely obtainable - they’ve been pouring loads of money and effort into improving their business school. I would say give Syracuse a look too.

Bryant University in Rhode Island. One of the three “B” s in New England. Babson, Bentley and Bryant. All business schools of high high quality.

More locally. Not sure if Texas tech has business. But they always are a leader in the fortune 100 CEO UG school affiliation.

Would I have any chance at UT (in state) or UNC?

@billy1224

UT is probably more likely than UNC with you being in-state; UNC out-of-state admission is extremely competitive. But to answer your question, I would say yes, you do have some sort of chance but the chances are not particularly in your favor. We’ve all listed some great schools that I think you should take a look at that definitely lean more in your favor.
