Best Cal State

Does anybody know what the best cal state for Biology is? Which one is the nicest (local, buildings, structures, dorms, etc.)? Would any come off, or be on par, with any of the UCs? Thanks.

I think San Diego State or one of the Cal Polies would be good for biology.

Thanks for the super quick response. I thought I was the only one up this late (early).

haha, i'm here too man. i wish i could help you with your question though.

The CCers will always be there for you! :)

I'm awake too!
Yeah, I think CPP or CPSLO are good for bio.

^No she won't. She's just trying to increase her post count.

Edit: referring to the famed yams not nikkei.

dude can't beat the UC system.

It's really quite funny; I still don't know whether or not I should go to a UC or a Cal State. I know that, generally, UCs are looked at as being better; but are they, really? Especially for somebody that still doesn't know what they want to do with their degree. Sometimes I think, like, "Oh man, I bet you think your super awesome for going to UCLA." Other times, "Man, UCLA (or UCB) would be super sweet. Why do people just settle for State?" Eh, maybe I should flip a coin. And thanks for all you people who are up contributing to my insomnia. I really wish Insomniac: with dave attell was on. Did anybody ever watch that? I used to get so excited when it used to come on.

For this field? I believe so. I think the general rule was that CSUs tend to be more practical, while UCs are more bent towards research. From what I remember, UCSD and UCD have very, very strong biology programs --- it might be worth your while to look into the two campuses.

Hey even though I want to get my posts up, I still love CC!
why would I be on here at this time of the day if I didn't ;)

because you are talking to me :D

and trying to get the attention of another poster

What do you mean by more practical? Do you know any, like, advantages that exist in attending a UC vs. a Cal State (in what instance, would attending either help me out more, in any given situation)? Yeah, I kind of looked at Davis, I'm doing the TAA, but I really don't want to go way up there for school. I'd rather stay in So. Cal and go to UCI or UCSD.

I keep telling her that I've moved on, but she doesn't listen!

Hahahahahha. What? Who? Where? Should I ask... why? Is there a hot chick in this thread, or something?

See the following CC thread for more information: http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?4/37329

Ah, didn't realize you were in SoCal. In that case, I'd consider UCSD or CPSLO/CPP. (If you could, I'd go for a TAA with UCSD rather than UCD. Can't find some recent rankings at the moment, but at one point UCSD was top three in bioengineering, molecular bio, and biochem.)
