Because of my flight im in Ithaca for two days, but I'm going to only be accommodated by the university for one day. Does anyone know a good hotel that's nearby everything that would give me a good experience of Ithaca and the college?

You might try …

Hilton Garden Inn Ithaca
130 E. Seneca Street, Ithaca, New York, USA 14850
Tel: +1-607-277-8900 Fax: +1-607-277-8910

We’ve stayed there when in town visiting our son. Fairly close to campus, Ithaca Commons is 2 blocks away, and a number of restaurants/coffee shops/etc are in easy walking distance.

One other thought… You could look into staying at …

The Statler Hotel at Cornell University -
130 Statler Drive, Ithaca, NY - (607) 257-2500

It is near the center of campus (yes, on campus) and is run by the Hotel School. Haven’t had the pleasure yet but by all accounts, a very good hotel and, of course, very easy access to the university.

all of the aformentioned hotels are expensive…

if you are looking at a bargain there are some cheap motels on route 13 and some more affordable ones closer to the airport (village of lansing)

there is also one down the hill on west campus called [Hillside Inn](http://www.hillside-inn.net/)

if you are a student and are coming alone, you might just ask your host if you could possibly stay an extra night. Or you could ask someone else if you could stay with them an extra night.

I doubt they would be much opposed.

do not stay at the statler.

Has anybody ever stayed at the Hillside Inn?

The other option would be to just knock on the door of a random fraternity and explain that you are a pre-frosh.

When I visited Cornell, I stayed at the Statler hotel. It was kind of nice. And plus, if you stay at Statler hotel, they park the car for you and you can the leave the car there all day! Parking is horrible at Cornell from what I heard. Hehe!

who can afford the statler?! LOL

Statler is nice, definitely extremely convenient but $$$. For budget-minded travelers, the Super 8 is clean, comfortable, and affordable (by Wegman’s). DO NOT STAY AT THE MEADOW COURT INN UNDER ANY AND ALL CIRCUMSTANCES!!! Also, book a reservation for August as soon as you can as hotels fill up (or you could end up at Meadow Court Inn!)

Try the Best Western University Inn. It is very inexpensive (try Priceline/Hotwire) and we found it to be quite nice. While it isn’t the greatest hotel ever, it gets the job done. Plus, breakfast is included. They also have a shuttle that will drive you to campus, but we did not take it when I went there, so I don’t know. Have fun at Cornell!

i think a lot of alums stay at hillside… it has a great location! although it doesn’t look like the greatest establishment :)

statler is cool

saw an ad in the sun for the hillside $60/night although since it is cornell days it might be booked already…

statler is your best deal but if money is an issue it’s not…

i recommend the Hilton or Holiday Inn downtown because the bus from the commons to cornell campus runs every 10 minutes from 7am-7pm (route 10) and (every hour from 10pm-1am (route #12 except sundays))

Has anybody ever stayed at the Hillside?

nope but i stayed at Comfort Inn on Rt 13 when I visited. completely and utterly fineee for one night. very standard, nothing exceptional, but most importantly nothing particularly horrible. cheap. :P

We were just in Ithaca over spring break and stayed at the Hampton Inn on Rt 13. Easy to get to and from campus, free parking and breakfast is included. It is near Wegmans and other stores like that. You would need a car though, to get back and forth to Cornell, although it is a short ride.

Haha we stayed at Super 8 like 5 minutes away for $70 a night and honestly it was fine and theres a free breakfast =D

Best Western Ithaca has a free shuttle to campus

just some fyi…
i just booked mine and my father’s hotel nights (4) for aug 18-22 for some ithaca shopping and many of the hotels are already booked. we finally found one, but it was definitely not our first choice.
i recommend booking your hotel rooms (if you have no already done so) asap!
