Best looking prep schools

I think we're the only two people on cc (prep forum)

hmm i would say the school that dresses (is that correct?) the most preppiest aka abercrombie, hollister, american apparel, american eagle, etc.

hmm sorry if you dont like the answer^^^ but i'll stick to my old roots being a prep

Well, in my opinion (especially at BS) preppy is more Ralph Lauren, L.L. Bean, Brooks Brothers, Sperry's etc. You know, the classic cable knit sweater, pearls, khakis.

I may be wrong though, it's just my opinion.

Lol, and yeah "the school that dresses..." was correct. I think!

lol dumb blonde moment (not a blonde, DO NOT wanna offend anyone)

i love ralph lauren jeans and cashmere sweaters, but id rather stick to present prep at public schools. im not really into classic prep

but im willing to change, especially if it looks cute....i follow trends a lot

yeah I agree. now that I know your name, it's weird to call you mmoynan. I just can't do it anymore. :D

it's weird. people say the classic prep style is what's worn at boarding school but that's totally not the case in Exeter...
it's just the regular abercrombie, occasional ralph lauren and burberry. no pearls, and cashmere sweaters..o.O

well is abercrombie what's "cool" or is it more ralph lauren/lacoste? I would think cashmere sweaters are a necessity because of the weather.

abercrombie is definitely cool. yep i agree with krncowlovar. well with the weather (i live in washington) id rather wear a jacket i.e. northface and uggs (im giving uggs up though cause im a vegetarian and that'd be hypocritical of me). i kinda hate the shoes burberry offers especially their high heels. they're really fugly. ralph lauren isnt as expensive as burberry so it should be more common

Well your not a vegan are u?

Well I think Abercrombie is 'IN' everywhere right now... so I'm sure it is at these schools as well.

But I was under the impression that the Ralph/Burberry/Brooks etc trend was more PROMINENT at these boarding schools. I may be wrong though...

Oh, and yeah... Senay I like that you called it 'classic prep', it think thats a perfect way of describing it. =]

sorry senay, I wasn't asking you. You don't actually go to Exeter right now so... :D Abercrombie is sooo cheap. It's disgusting.

Abercrombie ? Hollister ? Preppy ? Ummm no ....

Fake preppy ? Maybe ....

hahaha prezomar!!! totally agree!

yeah, at sps "preppy" is definitely more classic-aka j.crew and brooks brothers and ralph lauren.
your not going to get like made fun of if you wear abercrombie though, just most people don't....

yeaaa i get what your saying. preppy is more than clothes though, you have to understand that to be real prep, you have to be pretty gorgeous and look popular. like 95% of my school wears abercrombie and they are definitely not all prep material cause, well, some are ugly.

uggs are made of wool plus it has sheep skin attached to it. one ugg pair=8 sheep to
make

i was watching a video on myspace made by exeter students as a memory vid cause they were going to graduate and i saw absolutely no classic prep. all i saw was abercrombie and hollister. but i wouldnt say they are in the preppy (popular) clique because they werent that material. but krncolovar just confirmed that thats what she sees at exeter cause shes currently a student, classic prep isnt really shown at exeter.

hmm i never thought of ralph lauren as prep cause i think its cheap, well, at least for me but maybe i think its cheap cause i buy ralph lauren from macys and nordstrom.....which isnt exactly high-end

Ok, first of all Exenians tend to have a poor fashion sense. They are smart kids who don't tend to care about their looks - kinda like MIT guys I suppose. So they should not be your bench marker for prep school fashion. Hotchkiss, Deerfield, SPS, and Groton boys on the other hand are more like Princeton students - they have both the fashion sense and the brains.

The most fashionable, old money, retreats (cough cough schools) are as follows:

Hotchkiss, Deerfield, SPS, and Groton. They are the ones that have true preppy style and I assure you Abercrombie is NOT fashionable there. No one will look down at you for wearing it but its considered fake and not attractive.

Senay, no matter how rich you are Macy's and Nordstorm are not low end stores and they are not cheap. And if you consider a 50 dollar shirt cheap then you do not know the value of a dollar and will waste away all of your dad's money when you inherit it. Thank god for your wealth but know that money is valuable. I want to become a multi-centi-billionaire but I will never do that if i waste money like its water. That's new money behavior. Old money converses their money and only buys things when necessary and do not find the need to brag about their wealth. This is not an attack on you I am just saying that watch yourself because though you may not have intended to come of as arrogant - you did. Your a nice person that's why i am telling you this before you go to boarding school.
