I took the SAT this past November for the 1st time and I wasn’t super pleased with my scores I got a 1100 with a 600 in reading/write and a 500 in math. I want to know the best technique for me to raise my score so I can get my bright futures scholarship and have a decent score to apply with to colleges. My goal is a 1300, any tips for me??
I fogot what the website url was but there is a website that you select the area of the SAT you want to study, and then it will shoot the practice questions at you over and over. In the end you can see how your average is doing. Just repeating this everyday can increase your ability to use logic to find a faster way of seeing a solution without having to solve the exact answer.
Kahn Academy’s website. It’s free.
The SAT is actually a puzzle to confuse the taker. Here’s a tip for English: don’t find the answer that YOU think best fits, but MOST LOGICALLY fits. Also, there are many tricks within the reading and writing sections of the SAT which you should take the time to familiarize yourself with. For math, it’s a different story. Practice some SAT math questions, and figure out the secret of the question. There is often a trick hidden within the math questions which makes the question seem much harder than it should be. However, don’t just learn the SAT’s tricks, you should also practice by purchasing books, SAT tutoring, or like homerdog said, using Khan Academy’s SAT prep. Best of luck increasing your score!
With your score, you might benefit from taking a SAT class. Especially if you tried to self study before this attempt.
You could also try an ACT practice test, I know it fit my style better!
