Well he was such a liar

Kids completely rude to their teachers. Kids never doing work and then expecting an A. Kids being complete bullies to lesser-know introverts.

Yeah. High School sucks.

I’m going to make the assumption that you are one of the more mature people in your class, and I can relate to the irritation that comes from other people in your school. However, unlike high school, you’ll be able to surround yourself with people with similar interests as you in college.
Agreed–the man who said the best years of your life is high school is a crazy liar.
College is where it’s at!

^
Why do you think that college will be the best time of your life (not trying to berate you or anything, simply curious). Even though it’s to a lesser extent, you still have to deal with the ******y types frequently and your life will be clogged with studying (think engineering major; even if they find the material fascinating I’m sure that they’ll have a better time when they have jobs and a lighter schedule). I feel like the best years of your life will be when your life is up and running and you’re beginning to fulfill your dreams.

Ive wondered that as well. Ive found that that quote applies to kids who hit their prime in high school. For example, the quintessential high school athlete that neglects academics, focuses on sports and girls and is left out to hang in real world because the admissions for athletes is EXTREMELY competitve, they blew their academic opportunities and the girls move on to bigger targets. (no offense girls, just referring to certain ones)

Why do people believe that there is a universal “best time of your life”? Plus how can we compare. Not until the end of our lives can we really say what was OUR “best time of our lives”

High school is a tough time i think, except maybe for those happy and popular jock types that you mentioned. It is such a hormonal time that it is hard for people to even realize that they will get past it all eventually. I think that it is the raging hormones that make it seem very intense in HS and that is why people say that it is so awesome.

I would love to be able to go back and be a kid again and live with my parents. Going home to someone making dinner and worrying about paying the bills, instead of doing it myself. I would not like to have to deal with the worry over being a misfit and being overly emotional about such silly stuff.

I think the best times in life come by in pockets. Those moments when you have what could be considered a crappy job but that is filled with coworkers that are your best friends and you can’t stop laughing the whole time you are there. Or the time when you have a set of interesting college classes and friends that you go out for coffee or beers with after.

The message is that there is always the possibility of good time coming your way, pretty much no matter what stage of life you are in or how old you are.

Well I’m just so ****ed the whole week because it seems like life’s goal is to bug the crap out of me. Most recently, walking out of the bus, this totally obnoxious kid came up to me and basically cursed me out because apparently I’m a loner.

All I can say is, cool story bro

Really? High School? IF this is the best 4 years then I’m not enjoying it. But more older people (that went to a 4-year college) refers to college as being the best 4 years, and some (not most) even went as far to say that High school is the worse (but not that bad).

I sometimes dislike high school, but I always enjoy going to high school just to be around people. Being by yourself, as I found out this summer, really sucks. Even if everyone’s not your friend in high school, you surely have a few, and those are the few that make HS count. I have a great friend of the opposite gender and I have taken her up under my wing and she’s part of the reason why I wake up every day; she’s just such a joy to be around :).

That seriously was the sweetest thing I have ever read.
I hope she read it (:

Those ‘kids’ sound like the idiots in non-AP classes.

High school, is alright, haha. It wasn’t anything like High School Musical, lawl.
But life after school and the weekends? Yeeyee, had great times.
High school is high school, just because you see those go-happy cheerleaders and jocks all the time, they’re not always happy. Everyone goes through bull***** and emotional crap.

LOL thats true…Highschool is probably the most stressed out ive ever been in my entire life. I have work to do in school, at home, on weekends. it seems like it will never END

It makes me so very sad to read threads like these. High school comes only once: enjoy it.

**** grades. **** college admissions. It’s a damn game, and people have made the game so serious now that it makes people miserable. You can lose every now and then. Who cares? You only have these four years once, and they can be ****ing awesome if you let them be.

this.

carpe diem. sieze the day. there’s no point for waiting around for that awesome time in your life when everything just goes your way. it ain’t gonna happen. just chill and do what’s right

Well really there isn’t specifically the “best time of our lives”, I guess it just depends on how you handle it xD.

Well I don’t like being in my high school, but i’m making it fun for myself. The academics are too easy honestly o_0, even though I took AP’s, the teachers are chill.

But half of the people there **** me off… Yah back in freshmen/ sophmore year, I hung out w/ the AP people who thought similiarly to me, but their honestly stuck-up two face people that talk behind each other’s backs xD, so I left them, and migrated to the band people. Out of high school, I only made one true friend o_0 But hey, she’s extremely hilarious, and got my back So now i’m having fun.

I just can’t wait to go to college… (ahem ahem UC San Diego! hopefully!) Better people. Purposeful classes. DORMS YES. Fraternities. Parties. (hell yah),

…and I’m still a junior awaiting that. LOL.

High school itself isn’t the best part - its the things that revolve around high school. Like sports teams, prom, etc. You can drive in high school, have a job, be more self sufficient, but you don’t have to provide for yourself just yet.

The worst years of my life so far. 10 more days.

For me, the best time in my life will probably be the years after I adopt a son and begin to raise him. I look forward to that with more joy than anything else. More than getting into Stanford, or getting a Ph.D., or getting a 2400 on the SAT.
