Better to be a male for William and Mary?

Is it true?

And another question....

Which one is better to apply to with ED? UVA or WM? As in percentage accepted?

for regular decision, there are like over 3000 males and 6000 females who apply to W&M.
The statistics seems like there is a better chance to get in if you are a male.
But I don't think that male applicants who are accepted are way less qualified..

UVA does'nt have ED anymore.
Those two schools are almost equally good, but UVA is much harder to get in.
A lot of people who got a acceptance letter from W&M were on UVA's waiting list last year.

actually, UVA and W&M have acceptance rates that are about the same, at least according to collegeboard.com... UVA=35%, W&M=34%

A couple of years ago, there was an article in a national magazine that implied strongly that being male does help with admission to W & M. At one high school, for example, the last girl to gain admission there was five years ago. Several guys have been admitted, though, and one girl who was waitlisted was No. 1 in the class with an SAT of 1370 and a GPA of 4.2. One guy who gained admittance was in the mid-1200s with a 3.6 GPA. Of course, it also helps if you are in-state.

Every year, there are people who:
get rejected at W&M and UVA
get into W&M, and not UVA
get into UVA, and not W&M
get into UVA and W&M

that is a fairly low SAT score for being #1 in the class, first of all. And, I would ask how many girls have applied in the last 5 years. But more importantly, the W&M admissions office has the luxury of creating the incoming class that they want. Mid 1200s puts that applicant in the bottom quarter of the SAT pool. Do you know what else the applicant did? W&M is not a "by the numbers" admissions process. You can turn to Charlottesville for that.

I'm just going to answer the OP's question......better to be a male or female at William and Mary.

If you like beautiful and smart girls, then it's better to be a male at William and Mary.

Soccerguy came through with everything else I wanted to say.
