BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

@123Mimi nope. They’re my last audition to schedule.

It’s a YES from Chapman for screen acting. So relieved.

@Twoboysandadog congrats!!! That is so amazing to hear

@Jamesdm25 Thanks! That’s his very top choice. Was hoping to hear from Emerson today too but …

…we were too. I called Emerson to ask about EA decisions and was told that they will be going out at the end of next week.
So keep a heads up for that. I also thought it would be today also but more waitinggggggggggg…

My D has been accepted for Screen Acting at Chapman. She applied ED so all other applications will now be withdrawn. I hope everyone else achieves their dreams too.

Thx to everyone for the good info. S passed all the screens except DePaul. Auditioned so far at two schools and received one admit. Waiting on the other. 5 auditions in 4 weeks starting January 13th. Going to be a busy start to the year!! Good Luck to all!!

My son’s acceptance was also ED so he’s done too. (I sent you a DM.) I have to admit that I’m happy to be off this roller coaster already.

And before we had a chance to withdraw the app, my son heard from Emerson that he was accepted to Theatre & Performance. Hope others are getting good news!

So happy to hear everyone’s good news, knowing how crazy stressful this ride has been!!! D was deferred from Chapman, but she applied EA, so she’s still hopeful. She has 3 big auditions coming up after the new year - Michigan, UCLA, Minnesota, so our roller coaster continues. We did hear yesterday that she was accepted to the BFA-Acting track at UIUC, so that was a relief! Still waiting on LMU…

My D received an acceptance last night to The New School with 20K merit scholarship. We are so relieved to have a yes so early on. Now dealing with the reality that my child is going to college. :frowning:

@Twoboysandadog Congratulations! That is fantastic news. So you are all done, wow! I really can’t imagine that. I think my D has 8 auditions in January, holding on for a bumpy ride!

@ginaf1102 Congrats! That is such wonderful news. The first is the sweetest.

@mychildsslave Hello! Deferred can still be a yes, you are just in it for the long haul, like me! I am still waiting to hear from Michigan, maybe that is not good, I don’t know. I think I will call, because I need to fit in one more thing at NYC unifieds. We are also waiting on LMU - I assume you applied EA? Last year, my friend heard mid-December, but when I called they said Late December.

Opinions please: I need to tinker with audition schedule. For UNCSA, we really wanted to go on campus, but now the logistics are getting tough. Was considering trying to squeeze it in at NYC Unifieds. 1) does anyone know if that is largely full? Do you think it be held against us if we try to switch from on campus, to NYC unifieds? Otherwise, I could push it to February on campus. Please be honest! Scheduling ANXIETY!

@FourStars it won’t be held against you at all. Bill Poole does the scheduling and he is amazing. Give them a call to see if it can be rescheduled. They finished up last Friday so no kids on campus. Not sure if faculty are there or not. The drama secretaries and Bill Poole are super helpful. NYC unifieds were a good experience for my D there. Good luck.

Congrats, @Twoboysandadog, @London2017, and @VA Skydog! (and anyone I missed!) So happy to see good news!

@FourStars, thank you! Yes, EA for LMU. I can’t believe how long they’re taking, when they came out with ED decision on 12/1. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. Yes, 3 more months of this… I hope I survive til then. Best of luck on all your auditions! I read you have 9?!! We have 3 to go, and that’s already a lot. My D does have UIUC to fall back on. I LOVED their program and facility, but of course what I love isn’t usually what she loves

Congrats @London2017 and @VASkydog! This is such a tough road full of bumps. Personally, I know we are in it for the long haul, D’s decisions will be late March/April, but we are happy to have an acceptance at Marymount Manhattan, that helps a lot.

@FourStars, we’re in exactly the same boat!! No matter what acceptances my D has received so far, I know the final decision won’t be made til end of March when UC decisions come out. I’m secretly praying that she won’t fall in love with Michigan, cuz it is extremely expensive for out-of-state students, and I don’t believe they give out much merit money. This time of going thru college application is far worse than what we went thru with my older D. She’s studying fashion design, and all she had to do was submit her art portfolio, none of this complicated audition and traveling and extra supplemental apps, etc etc. My only saving grace is knowing that my youngest child, who’s only in 8th grade, has no desire whatsoever to be an actor!!! Lol!!!
