^^In all honesty, I was rather sympathetic to JoePa and his company at first, but as the story continues to unfold, I am sick to my stomach… This is an institution that has harbored and protected a serial rapist for God knows how long… Therefore, as a follow B1Ger, I stand by your comment on the other thread that I just saw:

“I stand by my suggestion that PSU be suspended from the Big Ten pending the full outcome of this.”

No wonder the students felt betrayed & rioted last night…

[Penn State Protest 11/8/11 - YouTube](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

While hardly my greatest concern the damage this has done to the BIG brand is difficult to even fathom. That alone is reason enough to suspend them for not meeting the goals and values of the BIG.

“Haha!
Students: Scandal is at Penn State, not Penn - Sacramento Sports - Kings, 49ers, Raiders, High School Sports | Sacramento Bee”

Just saw that, too!! Tragic…

“PSU president getting the axe.”

Not a moment too soon imho!! I think job security is the last thing in his mind now. He might be joining his buddies in jail pending on the result of the criminal investigation and the civil lawsuits to follow from the victims’ families…

Drew Sharp: Penn State should forfeit Saturday’s game

What the hell is wrong with PSU? They need to at the very least FIRE Paterno and that graduate assistant/coach (Mcquary?) immediately. How could they allow either of them in the stadium this Saturday at all?

Wow!! That’s all I can say in regards to PSU’s first step in winning back the public trust!!

The school is now known across the country as the “Pedophile State University” (PSU), yet its officials are still contemplating, indecisive on whether or not to fire the disgraced President… Just Wow!!

“I wish to say that Tim Curley and Gary Schultz have my unconditional support,” Penn State President Graham Spanier said in a statement, which an athletic department official said would be the school’s only comment on the matter. “I have known and worked daily with Tim and Gary for more than 16 years. I have complete confidence in how they have handled the allegations about a former University employee.”

Spanier should be fired for making statements like these. He is either too insensitive or too stupid.

Oh no, it’s official. US Department of Education to launch a formal investigation on Penn State University. This is much worse than being kicked out of the B1G or receiving NCAA’s death penalty due to lack of institutional control. This could mean years of probation if found guilty; worse, losing its accreditation status, thereby ordered to shut down its main campus?! Good Luck, Penn State… You gonna need it.

It is not an NCAA violation. The program will not get the death penalty. Why would it lose accreditation? This is not an academic issue either. Let’s cut the hysteria down just a bit.

Resigning with immediate effect would have spared the trustees the need to ask Paterno to call in to hear his fate. It could also have avoided the degenerate scenes shown in ESPN.
