In the mail? Or on the portals? Thanks for the info! Have you heard of anyone in state get an RD decision?
My D in state got acceptance notice on the portals. She applied on the free app week.
Congrats!!! My daughter also applied during the free week. She was deferred to RD from EA. Did you get it last night? It seems like Bing is often weeknights 7pm-ish?
She found out on Tuesday. I think they releasing randomly
Please state sat gpa in results.
Thanks
Do you mind sharing major and stats?
Congrats! Did she receive an email alerting her or did she just randomly check the portal?
Congrats, I assume she was previously deferred?
My son was accepted RD today to School of Management
Congrats!! Do you know if your son received an email alerting him there was an update or did he just randomly check the portal?
Congrats!!!
No, she applied RD
She received email first.
My son got an email as well.

Accepted RD to School of Management on 3/9
Anyone else completely shocked at the lack of responses and lack of chatter on here re Bing RD results?
Yes and yes. Lol
I swear this feels like a joke at this point. I get it Bing was slammed with record number of applicants but so were other equally (or greater) competitive schools and they managed to deliver results with efficiency. I am starting to second guess if the delay is more attributed to them being overwhelmed or if they are purposefully releasing results around the same time as some higher end schools (NYU/BU/Brandeis/Lehigh plus many others) to add to their newer image they are trying to build.
The whole EA thing was a joke too…I understand once deferred to the RD pool, its an equal playing field but they seriously need to re-evaluate their procedures and focus on process improvement. If they are swamped, hire more reviewers. I firmly believe that those that were deferred should have gotten priority review during the RD window. Once the class of 2027 review is over, I sure hope the admin officers (and their management) conduct a “lessons learned/post mortem”
The dramatic increase in applications (~27% from 2022) probably: 1. Overburdened the department 2. Have to worry about overcrowding dorms for the class of 2027.
For 2021-22, there were 39533 applicants. 44.00% were admitted (17395). Yield rate was 18% (3131). Those same numbers for 50000 apps is 22000/3960. They’d wouldn’t have any space. And a slight change in yield rate would make it even worse. Yield rate in 2013-14 was 22%.
This all makes sense, but it still feels like they bit off more than they can chew. If there isn’t enough space, then even if that means more rejections, so be it. By now, all students admitted via ED to other institutions have withdrawn their apps. Stony gets roughly the same amount of applications yet their process was far more efficient, and they don’t even offer EA like Bing. What was the point of EA then?
All I am saying, projections should be made for process improvement. If Bing year over year gets more apps, then they should have been better prepared this year. Equally, next year they should be prepared to handle at least as many apps as this year.
Also according to this article last year’s #s were also in the 50,000 range of applicants:
“Binghamton received a record 50,100 applications this year, which includes nearly 41,700 first-year, 3,900 transfer and over 4,500 graduate student applications for fall 2022 admission”
The article further says this is a 5% increase over the previous year. Wouldn’t it have been reasonable for Bing to expect at least a 5% growth this year too and plan accordingly?
