Biomedical Engineering Major selection

After you finish the first-year engineering program and select a major within the SOE, can you be turned down due to too many people in the program? Specifically, my son is interested in taking the Biomedical Engineering program once he finishes freshman year from fall 2013 to spring of 2014, then he would declare the concentration in BME for sophomore year fall of 2014.

As of now, no you won’t be turned down. I can’t speak for in the future, especially for BME because the class size has gotten very large and is becoming a logistical problem.

Yes. In theory, you can be turned down if too many people enter a specific discipline of engineering. But it hasn’t happened as of yet because many people decide to branch into different paths.

I went to the honors scholars day and someone asked this same question. The short answer: No they will make it happen they wont turn anyone down
