My first son will be in college this coming Fall. I want to prepare myself. Can anyone recommend any books and podcasts on ‘parenting’ college kids?
ETA: Sorry, I must have read too quickly and misunderstood your post, hence my earlier reply! I recommend the “Grown and Flown” podcast, FB page, etc. It’s a great resource on its own but also gives lots of references to other related information and resources.
I really loved “The Naked Roommate: for Parents Only”. Funny title but lots of practical tips for parenting a college kid.
Thank you. Just bought this book!
I actually subscribed the two podcasts because I have 2nd son who is 10th grade. So they will be helpful. Thank you for the information.
I also like the “Grown & Flown” FB page…
In addition to Grown & Flown, I would suggest the book “The Stressed Years of Their Lives”.
D20’s college encouraged parents of incoming firstyear students to listen to the College Ready 2020 podcast series. They had a rotating cast of guests from colleges and I found it informative and helpful. I’m not sure if it has been, or will be, updated for 2021 but many aspects of 2021 will be the same as 2020.
