It’ll be either tomorrow after school hours or Thursday after school hours.
32 ACT and 3.67 UW w/ 6 APs… played 4 years of lax and 2 years wrestling
Jesuit high school that doesn’t rank
Caucasian male
Chances?
ACT was 31 English, 29 Math 35 Reading 34 science (idk if that helps or not)
Just to get this straight, they do super score ACT right?
@collegebound2016 i also just got deferred from Northeastern… now feeling terrible about BC! I’m so confused and disheartened.
Me too!^
why do we think northeastern was so harsh? i was told it was a likely school for me…
i was accepted but probably only because I visited since i have similar stats to those who were deferred
Oh thank you!
@collegebound2016 yeah… I expected to get in. I understand that it is difficult though, but my stats were in the ranges
I know two people who were deferred as well and they had great credentials, one was 3rd in the class, don’t get down about it! Sometimes they defer applicants they consider “strong” in order to compare them. So there is a possibility you could both be considered strong applicants. I know someone who was deferred and kept his grades up and was later accepted.
We received an email from our college counselor about a week ago with these stats, and here is part of the email:
Seniors,
Early Decision and Early Action notifications have begun to be released. Here is a sampling of some information that we have gathered:
•Duke is up 11% in ED applications
•Temple is up 11% in EA applications
•Boston College, after being up 76% in EA applications last year, is actually down 11% from last year’s record high
•Fordham is up 5% in EA applications
•Northeastern University is up 2% in EA & 15% in ED
This will inevitably result in greater selectivity and more defers as colleges are weary of how interested an early applicant truly is.
Thought I would share. It might help to explain our deferrals when many of us thought that we were strong applicants. The whole college game is just crazy. At the end of the day, we will all end up where we were meant to be. College is not about the name right? It is about what we make of it. If we get good news, let’s share. If we don’t, let’s lift each other up and move forward. Wishing all of you the decision you are hoping for.
Are we expecting portal changes in 40 minutes?
@collegebound2016 haha our usernames are so similar people were talking to you and i was like wait i didn’t even say anything! lol
has anyone gotten any portal change?
Nah
wait so do we know when BC decisions coming out?
Sometime this week. That’s all we know
So the e-mail I received was seemingly contradictory…something along the lines of checking your emails regularly. But then it went on to say that no decisions will be posted online. Anyone care to explain? Thanks
No portal changes
