@2fruitloop2001 We’re you originally deferred and then submitted your 1st quarter grades and was accepted? Or did you just find out you were accepted recently?
@Gr8Barn no, i was accepted early action in december, i just posted because i was just seeing this thread now. My first mp grades came out in mid-november, after i had applied, so I sent them in case they might impact my decision.
Excellent grades can never hurt.
@alwaysirish I agree with you and thank you for being “real.” Of course there are thousands of us with stats good enough to get in the top schools but we won’t because we don’t have the legacy. I think it should be like the inheritance tax…get rid of legacy. The inheritance tax makes sure generations don’t keep the cash within the family, then why do colleges get to keep it in the family. My parents didn’t go to an ivy league school but it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t. But my straight a’s and all my extra work will never get me there being a white male. So uncool. If liberals want to spread the wealth then spread the legacy and send your kids to the state school.
ProTip (for life): don’t be concerned with stuff that you can’t control.
OTOH, legacy at BC is not that big a bump as it is an other schools (cough, cough, a certain college in Cambridge). In my D’s year, a bunch of legacies were deferred EA and than Waitlisted. Sure, a few got off of the WL, but for most it was just a soft rejection.
On the BC rd 2022 thread last year, a father was complaining that he will never give BC money again. He, his wife and his parents all went to BC. Son was a talented and high achieving student. Rejected.
It can go either way. After EA round I don’t believe it helps very much.
Did they ask you for the copy of tax returns? My daughter was also accepted EA but wasn’t aware that any additional financial info was required other than FAFSA and CSS
@kjpnj - Here is a link to the financial aid application requirements. https://www.bc.edu/offices/stserv/financial/finaid/undergrad/applying_for_aid/prospective.html
the complete app can be found on the forms page:
https://www.bc.edu/offices/stserv/financial/finaid/undergrad/undergrad_forms.html
or, the app pdf:

@kjpnj You have to send a hard copy of your tax returns directly to Financial Aid…tax forms and W2s for parents and students. Look at the website. My husband also called to verify this is the case; hard copies do need to be sent through the postal service. Follow the link from the financial aid page where you enter the Eagle ID # and that will tell you what forms you are missing.
Congratulations to all who have been accepted to date!
Question: for those deferred from EA, is someone able to confirm that timing for an updated status from BC Admissions is the same decision date for RD applicants (April 1st)? Or are there additional decisions for the deferred EA pool ahead of the RD notification dates the way other schools manage (ie - Michigan has additional waves of decisions for the deferred EA pool ahead of the RD pool timelines).
Apologies if this was posted elsewhere in this forum but I didn’t see it on this particular thread and thanks for the help!
All RD decisions go out the same time as is practical. (Sometimes the RD decisions get announced over a couple od days but that is just bcos of weather or other unforeseen circumstances, particularly when they were snail-mailed.)
There is no separate decision pool or announcement date for deferred EA’s.
Good luck.
And last year it was before April 1st
Is there a thread for RD 2023? If so, could someone attach the link? Can’t find it.

Anyone get their Financial Aid Award yet?
Hoping they start to send them out this week.
