So I applied to the CSOM and decided to choose finance. However, I have decided that business would be the right choice. I just e-mailed my application handler asking for a change (even though the deadline is January 1st). I apologized for any inconvenience this would have caused. My supplement is primarily about business instead of finance even though my common app digitally says finance. Do you think they will change it?
I chose CSOM as well, just applied and put intended accounting. From what I have heard, most schools this isn’t declaring your major especially since it says intended, just wondering what you would want. I don’t think they have you declare your major this early.
Correct as per above. You have an intended “focus” in CSOM. There is no “major”. You won’t fulfill your CSOM until end of soph yr when you then declare your focus.
@BurnzZy @Shade45 So you don’t think it’s a problem that I filled out finance on the application but wrote about business in my supplement?
@ngiord13 Do you mean for the 400 word prompt? I don’t think it really matters, like the other guy said, you won’t delcare your major for awhile but as long as you’re applying to the Business school as a whole it’s fine.
It’s no problem at all.
You don’t have to declare a concentration before you get to campus anyway. Many CSOM frosh come in undeclared, take the intro class of what they’re considering and then make a decision. That’s usually sophomore year. Many add a second concentration when they’re juniors. You’ve got plenty of time so don’t stress over it.
It looks like my second LOR will be late, after January 1st. Does anyone know if my application will still be considered? Applying to CSOM with finance major
