Boston College Regular Decision 2019

It might depend on what kind of legacy applicant you are… child of frat boy who graduated with a 2.0 and never donated a penny afterward, or child of a trustee…

I’ve often wondered if what kind of legacy applicant you are…my feeling is you are either legacy or you aren’t, but I’m really not sure.

What about sibling legacy?

Sibling legacy I hear in not as big as if you had a parent that went there.

Are we still expecting to hear something this week? Did someone actually hear that from BC Admissions? between the 18th and 23rd of March?

I think we’ll hear on 3/23 Monday this year because last year they heard back on the 3/24 Mondayy

@limbo333 Yes, BC admissions posted on CC, saying that decisions will be emailed March 18th-31st

Last year they were mailed on the 21st so I would say Friday is a good possibility. As for legacy for siblings, they say that only parents matter. In fact it used to include grandparents but it no longer does. That alone implies it means something if they went out of there way to define “legacy”. On the Common App it specifically asks for PARENTS. I heard that there is no difference if it is one parent or two. However, with that said, I think if somehow in your application a genuine connection comes across, which might be through a family member that has attended or whatever, that can only help. Again, I really think they are as holistic as any school that I have kept up with thus far. Good luck again everyone!

Thanks wishful

Just got waitlisted at Babson so now I’m even more nervous for BC…

@justinn76‌ I was just wait-listed at Babson as well too. I just want to hear back from all of the schools I applied to and know the decisions already.

@collegemomjam‌ I applied to CSOM

does anyone know the act range of accepted students for CSOM? and how is the acceptance rate?

^^^ Wondering the same thing. I have a 31 ACT and 3.6 UW GPA with all A’s in 6 AP’s for my senior year grades. Is CSOM a huge reach for me?

@justinn76 All As in 6 APs? Doesn’t seem like a long shot to me at all; you’d be a viable applicant for CSOM.

@limbo333 You’re correct. Between the 18th and the 23rd of March, which means Wednesday at the earliest, and Monday at the latest. Most people (myself included) are betting on Friday the 20th.

@SMarie101‌ I hope you’re right! My GPA is kinda low

@justinn76 I think weighted GPA is more important in your case, so I wouldn’t worry about your unweighted being low

Guys, tomorrow might be the day! I’m going to be checking my email every 5 minutes tomorrow haha XD

@gamink348 Same!! Hahaha I’m so excited/nervous for tomorrow, I know it’s not a definite that the e-mails will come, but it’s certainly a good possibility! Also, make sure you’re checking the BC Admission twitter page, because they’ll tweet right when e-mails are sent. Good luck!
