Anyone else nominated to go to boy state this year. I'm really looking foward to it. Sounds like a blast.

Anyone who has gone in the past, please post your experieces here.
Anyone who is going to MA Boy State, PM me I want to see if other CCers from the bay state are going.

ohhhhhhhhh, boys state. i went last year. regretted every moment of it. then again, ive never been too interested in government, so you may have a good time. i have two recommendations:

this rec. is if you are a slacker and are looking to do the least amount of work possible at boys state (im guessing this doesnt apply to you, but maybe it will for someone else): when everyone is getting elected for positions, volunteer to be on the "elections board". all you do is count ballots, and the best part is you legally cannot run for any other (more real) positions. therefore, you are more or less expected to do nothing. then, once you go to your capitol building, volunteer to be a page, either in the house or senate. you dont do ****. its awesome.

this rec. is if you have governor aspirations: make yourself be the outgoing funny guy of your group. trust me. make your gov. speech as funny as possible (make fun of the deans, etc.). not that it cant have some merit, but in the end people really will vote for whoevers speech got the most laughs.

have fun. oh, and bring food. lots of food. mmm, also, count on getting very little sleep. its just how it is. good luck.

I was in the one last year MA - Stonehill College. I was thinking about being a counsil this year, but didn't have enough time.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I took quite a bit of an experience from it.

Those who are not socially capable will not have a fun time. I enjoyed it greatly.
