Brazilian GPA conversion.

Hi there.

I tried to find a way to convert my GPA, but the more I search the more I find contradictives info.

My average percentage from my High School is 82/100%.

The question is, do I just convert it using a simple scale. Or are there other things to be consideres?

I've seen in some posts here that because brazil use an absolute system, sometimes an 82% average can be as close as a 4.0 in american system.

Help me please, I want to apply for The Ohio State University, UIUC and UW Madison.
I have a TOEFL score of 104 and aiming for 2000+ on SAT. Also I'll be a full pay student.

Wish me Luck. Ty.

[GPA Calculator](GPA Calculator)
look here

According to the GPA Calculator I got a 3.16 GPA

Do you think I have good chances to get into Ohio State university?

My TOEFL 104
SAT aiming for 2000+
Not much extracurricular activities, but I have one in particular which I think is different from most students.
Speak English, Portuguese and Spanish

And also, I’ll be paying full tuition.

Well, TOEFL 104 is good considering 94 as an average score… Plus you won’t be applying for financial aid. 3.14 is a bit low (but you are an international student, internationals’ gpa is a bit different for us one. because every country has its own way to give grades) but I think if you can get 2000+ on SAT, some great recs, and do a great essay you are in! if you have only one ec, but is it really important for you and it is different for the usual… it too way better that lot but common ecs. Speaking English, Portuguese and Spanish wil help too.
At least, this is what I think, but I actually am no one to say this

good luck!

oh,and do not forget yout class rank (you your country does so)

Thanks for the help.

My school doesn’t provide rank. But I’m the best from my class.
The problem is, my last high school was a trash, really bad public school. I could have got better GPA, but I was unmotivated because of the school.

My “different” extra-curricular activity is the study of social dinamics and human interactions. I also managed to teach some friends how to become better leaders and communicators. I meditate and I have really unique believes and a strong desire of helping the world becoming more confident and less depressive.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Leadership is always well accepted, and do not worry about your gpa, you can do it anyway!
