I am completely confused .I thought Bright Futures paid for either 75% or 100% of tuition .I seem to understand now that it is either $76 or $103 per credit hour .That is about 1/3 of what the University costs .USF qoets about $210 per credit .Is that correct that we pay the rest ?

It is 100% or 75% of the amounts set in the General Appropriations Act each year. The actual “tuition” at USF is $105.07 per credit hour. The average state tuition (I believe) is about $120.

So what gives? FEES! Usually referred to as “Local Fees,” there are 13 at USF.
With fees USF is $211.19 per credit hour AND $37 per semester (block fees). This is true at all the Florida SUS schools.

As I investigated schools throughout the southeast, only one or two schools had huge fee structures like these. Most colleges I reviewed just wrap it all into a single cost.
