Brown Class of 2019 Early Decision Applicants

I literally JUST got an email from an alumni for my interview! Unfortunately it has to be a skype interview, but I’m happy because she’s a younger alum, so hopefully she still knows about the current atmosphere of the school!

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN WE’LL HEAR FROM BROWN?

@petitetee Last year it was December 12th, it should be about the same time this year.

Last year they got the decisions on december 12th, hopefully it’s the same this year but they’ll email us in december to let us know I think.

Does anyone know if they email the decision directly, or if we have to log in to check?

You’ll log into the portal to check

Oh jeez, I am going to be freaking out when that time comes. Good to know, at least

7 days. Then 7 more days. then 5 more days.

It’s usually closer to December 15th, FYI.

This year, December 15 is on a monday. I really, really hope they don’t release decisions on a monday. Saturday the 13th would be ideal

Should i add my interviewer to fb? He asked me to add him
I dont have anything stupid on fb tho

I think my interviewer was more nervous than I was…

@9plus10is21 Sure, why not?

Does anyone here still not get interview notice?

I have yet to be contacted for an interview, too.

My interview lasted around 1 hr and 45 min at a coffee shop at fry’s electronic lol
The guy told me he didnt graduate from brown but berkeley but brown still contacted him for the interview which i thought was pretty cool
Then we started to talk about colleges, theory of education, and affirmative action which i was lucky enough to have the same views as he did

My S got interviewed today. The Interviewer was the co-chair of Alumni’s for the state. He was super nice. he met the parents, said hi etc., then had a good 1.5 hours of interviewing. He made my S very relaxed and was super nice and casual. both my S and him, got along on various topics and connected well. The only challenge i saw was - as soon as he met us he said “Brown is a little picky, so dont worry if you wont get selected in the ED but get deferred”… then at the end he said, it will be great for Brown to have a child like you as it adds value to Brown and at the same time he ended the interview and that dont be discouraged if you dont get the ED as it is super competitive… what should we read … does this mean, all ED decisions are already taken and he somehow knows my Son didnt get through? pretty confused with that 1 statement… He also “complemented us as parents to have raised such wonderful kid and how smart our son was and how great…etc.,”… he also mentioned that he is going to write a glowing recommendation letter and said the Son was one of the best interviews he has had in years(??) …and then this ED versus Deferred statement? not sure if he was just overly polite and “nice” or if it was true… net net… the ED discouragement versus getting to Deferred was a heartbreaker…

He’s just telling the truth - about 10% of ED applicants are accepted, 10% denied, and the rest are deferred. Chances are that your son will be deferred, and he’s just trying to ease the pain a bit if it does happen.

ED decisions are NOT all made by this point, and even if they were, he would know nothing about your son’s decision, good or bad.

I’m freakin’ out man

Pretty much hopeless. Get ready for ED2…but I really want a surprise!
