Interviews “reports” are due by December 1st, and they don’t often request first quarter grades. I doubt that they would wait until then to start reviewing apps. Many other colleges have already started reviewing. For example, Harvard started to a few days ago.

@stresseddad Is there any way to see if they have looked at your app? I can only see that my materials were “downloaded” a day after I submitted my app.

Brown does not require 1st quarter grades.

Wow, I’m suprised they havnt started reviewing. It is a two step review, so they probably are doing the regional review, but not taking the applications to the main committee yet.

Ok so I just did my brown interview and I have to say it was pretty relaxed. It lasted a little more than an hour and we ended up talking about a bunch of books that we both read. All in all, it was an overall positive interview, nothing mind-blowingly memorable but i can see her writing something positive.

She did mention something at the end which makes me wonder if interviewers have a general idea of who is going to be accepted

Interviewers do not have a clue about who will be accepted. Interviewing program is run by the Alumni Association. Did your interviewer confirm that she did not know anything about your transcript,SAT, ACT, essays or recommendations?

I just had my interview this week. Even though I was really nervous it went pretty well. My interviewer first asked me to talk a little bit about my family. Beforehand, he emailed me to bring a list of activities if I wanted, so I literally just printed out my activities that I listed on my common app, but formatted it a little neater. That was pretty useful, because my interviewer asked me to talked a little bit about each thing I was involved with on that list. Then he asked me the well anticipated question, “Why Brown?” He also asked me about the classes I am taking this year, how I am doing in them, and which ones are my favorite. He even asked me where I see myself in the future. It was overall a good experience. The guy was very nice, and he even invited in my mom to chat with his wife while he was interviewing me. It felt more like a conversation than an interview, because my interviewer spoke just as much as me. At the end he even told me that I had a decent chance of getting in, but not to get discouraged if I get deferred or even denied, and his wife even said something cute like “wherever you end up cream always rises to the top.”

Anybody who has the status updates on your Brown application summary page for Brown Writing Supplement, Common Application, Secondary School Report, Secondary School Transcript, and Teacher Evaluations??? :-S

On my account, I have these showing as completed, with the dates:

@scemily13 It’s hard to say, but in general, I would assume that having a longer interview is better. If you think that you were saying interesting and intelligent things, then don’t worry at all!

Hello, everyone. Interview tomorrow~ Nervous and excited. I am ready to go!
I am just wondering if any of you guys have received “likely letters”. I have never gotten anything from Brown yet (literally nothing at all!!! no recruiting e-mails or postal mails) Am I hopeless?
