Brown Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion

Is there anybody who applied for financial aid but wasn’t asked to submit the IDOC in their aid portal? I just submitted it and I’m wondering if they asked everyone who applied for aid.

@stolbr Yep, they ask everyone who applied.

@stolbr @AverageTeen2000 Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but I wasn’t asked to submit IDOC. My aid portal simply lists the CSS PROFILE and FAFSA and checks them off as satisfied.

Hey, are there any homeschoolers applying?

@jrdsnw IDOC is for further explaining some complicated situation or just further detail. Not everyone is requested for it. It doesn’t indicate admission or rejection. You’re in good shape regarding the financial aid application.

@Sleep_Deprived Yeah, I wasn’t worried about my FA application; I was confused about @AverageTeen2000’s assertion that they ask everyone for it.

Per brown.edu:

Hi homeschoolflexin I am also homeschooled and have applied ED. Good luck to you.

Very cool! I definitely feel that Brown’s philosophy and curriculum strongly aligns with homeschooling.

As Van Morrison says, “you’re my Brown ED girl”
Found it on an old thread and had to keep it alive, it’s just too good

@jackal278 haha I love that! Unfortunately it probably won’t be true for my daughter (I have complete faith in her talent and abilities, but the odds are just so difficult), but that doesn’t mean we can’t all appreciate a good joke.

@JaninaWeinas It is unbelievably competitive and there are so many components taken into consideration. But I’m sure your daughter is an extremely qualified candidate - best of luck to her!! Hopefully she isn’t stressing out over the decision too much!

Apparently questbridge applicants who were already accepted received an email stating that they can view their official acceptance letters on the 14th… so it’s most likely the 14th. However, it’s still possible that they are overloaded and are pushing back this date

quest bridge applicants were already accepted? also what is quest bridge

Bad news guys. I called the admissions office today, and they said they’ll be announcing the release date (NOT the results) for ED later next week, so it’s most likely not going to be next week.

@Sleep_Deprived some colleges release the date a couple days before the decision. Maybe they will announce it Wednesday, and decisions come out Friday or something like that. Did they specify?

I’m assuming it won’t be later than the 15th. They know that kids will be scrambling with college offices to get their other applications in before the holidays if it doesn’t work out.

Can someone email and ask if it will be before the 15th? There’s a chance it might not be because some colleges release ED decisions after the 15th (U Chicago, for example).

If it is not before the 15th then I will literally explode and die lol I can’t wait any longer why brown whyyyyy

I feel you @sciencenerd123. They said they’ll announce the release date “late next week”.

I really wish I’m wrong, but I’m sure we’re going to be waiting for more than a week, cause they’re announcing the release date towards the end of next week. This is violating the 8th Amendment of the United States Constitution. This is a cruel and unusual punishment for getting so invested into one school.
