What’s wrong with dream school(s)?
@LLAMALOVER101 Do you also happen to have “Final School Transcript” checkmarked in your portal for Feb 7th? I’m curious
@dairyqueen No should I? Have other people had it checked?
@LLAMALOVER101 Earlier in the thread people were talking about if it meant anything since it happened to several of them. I was just wondering if it had any correlation to likely letters ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I emailed Brown about the received Final School Transcript in my application portal. They said that this was an “error in my portal” and that they “corrected” it. Now it says that they are awaiting my Final School Transcript. I haven’t received a likely letter, so my input is not helpful for determining a correlation between the two.
Why would the university need my final transcript if I weren’t accepted? Final transcripts won’t be out until the end of May, which is nearly a month after enrollment decisions have been made.
My Brown portal doesn’t show anything about final transcripts. I’m definitely reading into this too much lol
I’m not expecting much at all from Brown, but it will be interesting to see if these “conspiracies” later prove themselves to be true…
@mattm2019 Trust me, I am too… Only 28 days to go. It’s probably best to just sit back and try not to think about it (which probably won’t happen considering I’ve been thinking about colleges nonstop for the past 4-5 months)
@mattm2019 the Final Transcript thing doesnt matter. It’s just something that the adcom needs/recommends to certain apps for additional data.
Ive explained it in detail in a previous reply, if you still have queries, PM me.
They dont require a final transcript through the portal as per my knowledge.I think its something sent to them by other means, like through the student portal (if you choose to attend the school) or direct mail.
Keep in mind the integral point that the Final School Transcript is asked (if at all, as schools like MIT dont need them even if a persons admitted and chooses to enroll) only if you choose to go to the school (mainly through the student portal), and doesnt have a set date, since some high schools get the final transcripts later, like for the IBDP program schools who get it in July.
Stay +ve, dont think too much, at this point everything is dealt for, and hope for the best.
I’ve never heard of a LL going to a deferred applicant. Doesn’t mean that it will never happen, but it’s unlikely.
Skieurope Llamalover was deferred and indicates he/she got one. Does seem curious.
@skieurope an unlikely likely letter
@skieurope That is why I am so confused why I got one. I am paranoid it is not legitimate! If anyone wants proof though they can PM me. I am just as confused as everybody else.
does not seem possible, considering you were deferred in the early round (as far as i know, Brown does not reject early decision applicants). Likely letters are often sent to the best of the best applicants, and if you could not even be admitted when applying ed, it is very unlikely that you are one of the top students in the regular pool. just my two cents
They actually do reject applicants ED. I know qualified people who applied early this year and got rejected. @throwaway123455
@throwaway123455 For proof PM me
ED rejections described.
A 10% increase is pretty huge for 1 year
@LLAMALOVER101 I also got deferred but into a different, equally good school, via likely. Do you think your LOCI or updated information got you in? I know a kid who was native American deferred ED with a 29 ACT then retook it got a 35 and received a likely letter - he ended up attending Stanford. So it is possible if the
@alexandra00 My LOCI literally just said Brown is still my top choice. I provided no new information. My paranoia makes me think my letter was accidentally sent…
Are likely letters a guarantee of admission? Also, this might be off topic but will Brown request my grades before the semester ends? Cause senioritis is kicking in…
