Probably a correction to the Fafsa
yeah i heard the same @AstroEducator the FA correction DOES mean acceptance
I trust skieurope to be right.
If you want a prediction, try www.astro.com. Trying to look at minute changes on the portal to tell if you’re in or not is a recipe for heartbreak or headache.
I believe that you can’t be sure that IDOC requests mean anything besides the fact that you probably made the first cut and that’s when the financial aid office got to your file. I have no particular inside knowledge of Brown, but I know that financial aid works in parallel to admissions at most colleges. They don’t know the final decisions so they run the numbers on a large percentage of the applicants.
TheGuy you write very confidently and assertively about many things on multiple Ivy boards and you do help clear up common misperceptions. But occasionally you mix your personal speculation with resourced fact. Would you be a bit clearer when you’re offering something that’s sourced solely by reddit or your own opinion?
@ninakatarina I agree with what u say. Just to run some numbers, about 85-90% apps are academically qualified, so I think thats the definition of the 1st cut. I’m speculating here, but thats what it is logically.
Sure. I should cite or state my sources at least. I should be doing so if required.
@TheGuy1 “Sure. I should cite or state my sources at least. I should be doing so if required.”
Accuracy, citation of sources or congeniality is not required but strongly suggested if a person seeks credibility.
My son tells me one of the nicest things about Brown is it’s sense of community, academic integrity, and mutual respect. Probably worth embodying those principals in advance of what I hope is good news for you. Just saying.
@Nocreativity1 Gotcha.
My son’s financial portal only has four items listed under requirements met. Do other applicants have more?
i have 6 or 7 @NMParent000079
I see two on my son’s portal, just the FAFSA and CSS.
Is anyone else not able to access their IDOC dashboard? Mine said it’s “being prepared” and to check back in a few hours. It said this for the past 2-3 days LMAO
@ashley_2023 Being prepared may mean something good, or not. IDK.
It can mean what it implies, but i highly doubt it since its on IDOC and not any spec. Uni portal, as one would imagine.
@ashley_2023 i don’t think it means anything
looks like the theory about having more documents than just the CSS and FAFSA on banner self service is a good sign stands true
I do love a good theory ?
Does brown and the other ivys consider southeast asian (iraq/Afghanistan, etc) as urm
@vpa2019 haha yeah i didnt believe it but i read a lot and asked around a lot and apparently if u have brown in idoc institution code and more docs than just fafsa and css in your banner self service portal you will be likely admitted. I dont normally believe all these theories but this one is the most possible and probable of the ones ive seen
More docs typically indicates a more complicated financial situation (like divorced parents or a parent who is self-employed). Don’t read anything into it.
No
@elena13 doubt that my parents arent divorced or self employed and those docs were not there until like a week ago
the financial aid and admissions departments work separately (since Brown is need-blind for domestic students), so the presence or absence of financial aid documents has nothing to do with your admission status
