Decrease in ED Apps!

[Yale Daily News - Briefly: Brown posts modest drop in early applications](http://www.yaledailynews.com/articles/view/26639)

i’m applying plme ed. 80 less plme apps! i think there were about ed 200ish apps last year

Ahh! Thats good news! :D
I'm also ED and PLME :P

smeagz,

how do you know how many ED apps there were last year to the PLME?

follow the link, the article mentions it

PLME EDer are in luck! But the admissions dean said they will proceed cautiously, so hopefully this won't mean they'll take less PLME from the ED pool and make up the rest from the RD pool.

bicyclekick, when i visited, i stopped by the plme office, and they told me like everything. i'm pretty sure she said 200 ed (and they accepted about 20), though i may not be remembering correctly

Thanks for that article, Smeagz! But unfortunately that doesn't necessarily mean that the chances of being accepted ED will go up....right?

well if they take 20/120....then the acceptance rate would be 16.7%....lol that would be awesome

yup, i hope that's the case... but my guess is that the acceptances will stay proportionate to the number of applicants, but more people will be deferred than rejected?

I don't think they have quotas for how much they should accept in the ED round. I think if you're qualified, you'll at least be deferred for later consideration and if you impress them enough, they'll accept you.
And I remember that Brown likes to defer more than they like to reject (from the official decisions thread anyway).

The ED info was posted in another thread earlier but woohoo! I applied to PLME ED too.

schrizto....correct me if i'm wrong but i looked at your history and you got into University of Pittsburgh?

Yeah, they gave me a decision already because they are rolling admissions. Getting into Brown would overrule it and any other schools I get into.
