fmhcbc:
I dunno. I wouldn’t worry too much though. Just send them a request if you absolutely need an earlier notification. Don’t if you don’t need it I guess? I don’t think it’ll necessarily help or harm…

I just got my login name. Still waiting for them to send the password.

nice, me too! For some reason it got put in the spam box. Can’t have that…

This is gonna be risky, especially before they figure out how many applications they actually received. I believe they are gonna accept roughly 30% more transfer students this year. So if some one needs an earlier notification, I guess he/she might be judged based on Brown’s previous criteria.

And you always have the option to send your deposit to secure your spot in another school so…

Yay! I just got my username. Just waiting on the passkey now.

Oh hey, check out this article: [The Brown Daily Herald - Transfer applications up 5 percent from last year](http://www.browndailyherald.com/transfer-applications-up-5-percent-from-last-year-1.2184825)

Sounds like some real good news in there…they’re doubling the amount of financial aid available for transfers! They say that ability to pay will be somewhat less of a factor this time around.

edit: Actually wait…only 800,000 dollars? That’s like $4700 a person. That sounds like pretty bad news for me, unless it turns out that most people don’t actually need financial aid…

o man
Brown’s need aware… and if u think about it, per-student allotment decreased although the total endowment increased… meaning I am not gonna fare well in Brown.

How much does not applying for financial aid really help though? I know they’re need aware but I still can’t imagine that it’ll work against highly qualified applicants and benefit less qualified applicants.

It helps a lot. If you read the article, you’ll find that the purpose of them increasing transfer admissions is to increase revenue. So if you can pay fully, it helps a lot. For those of us who can’t pay at all, it means we’re probably not getting in.

Weird…it says they haven’t received my FAFSA. I submitted that in January, and Brown is listed as a recipient.

I didn’t apply for financial aid but I’m by no means an exceptional applicant. Here’s to hoping I get in. (I probably wont)

So all of you who have been able to login to check your application status:
Do your instructor evaluations show up as two separate ones or does it just show up as one?

I have received my username/passkey but I can’t for the life of me find the “check your application status” link on brown.edu/admission. Am I just completely missing it?

Use the freshmen decision link for now

I just got the email :)

@Acadiafire

Same here! im on $0 family contribution
and it seems obvious that Brown is short on cash… the +50 acceptance seems mainly to boost short term revenue…

Additional 400,000 finaid seems like a token pacifier for peeps like us!! cuz that amount of money will give less than FIVE people a free ride, and the other 46 peeps will pay =P (40,000 annual boarding+tuition per person *at least TWO years of enrollment in Brown)

Reallly ??? really…

Ahh my secondary school report isn’t marked as received even though my HS transcript is.

As convenient as these online tracking systems are they still drive me crazy :(

Why does it say, “Thanks for applying to the clas of 2014. Decision will be out on April 1st”? I hope they didn’t accidentally put me with the freshman applicants; that would be unfortunate. lol

Ah S**t, just as I suspected, my university forgot to send my transcript! I’m so glad I’m leaving next year, god!

Am I royally screwed for this???
