I e-mailed about my missing Secondary School Report and they said that it’s entirely possible that they have it but just haven’t entered it in yet; they also said they’d e-mail me if anything were missing.

applying for double concentration in Literary Arts and Community Health. God I love Brown. Can’t wait for decisions to be released, and TOTALLY psyched about the +50 student increase!

I was so happy when I heard that they were increasing the number of accepted transfers. If you’re planning on double concentrating, does that mean you’re applying as a sophomore transfer?

Where did you guys hear they are planning on increasing(50+) the amount of transfers?

Well I first heard after chatting with an admissions rep, but I also read it later in the campus newspaper…

Is anyone else really nervous about the need aware transfer policy? What would be an average financial aid? Is anyone here even applying for need based financial aid?

HERE!!
I am on $0 parent contribution =(
Currently attending my school on grants/loans/scholarship/work…
People have no idea how it is like to work all year round and maintain good academic / extracurricular performance.
Alas, even if I get rejected, I am sure that my work ethic will get me wherever I wanna go WITH or WITHOUT Brown degree =P

Tho with a brown degree would be preferable (…)

@neu2nu: Nope, I’m currently a sophomore, just a slightly over-ambitious one :-P. My current institution is significantly more expensive than Brown, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I had to spend an extra semester or two there since it’s much easier to pay for. I just visited this weekend and i absolutely loved it! I will without a doubt be on edge until decisions are released.

I have one silly question but really hope to be reassured. In the Commonapp System, does it indicate date “03/02/2010” or some other dates? Does it refer to the date we submitted the application or the date the school downloaded it? Also, in the application summary, does it show that these online applications were received on “Mar 02, 2010”? Thanks a billion~~

@GiantPeach
Im almost positive that is the download date. I heard that 03/02 are indicated on most people’s summary.

@GiantPeach-- Mine says that as well. All of my Common Apps show up as being downloaded the day after the deadline, except for one which has rolling admissions. For my Brown app, it actually showed that it was submitted 3/2 despite having submitted it at like 11:55pm on the 1st. I called Brown the next day and they said that as long as my application went through it doesn’t matter. So don’t worry!

PS. I love your username.

@okm1ijn

Kudos to you and your ambitions!

Brown would a bit more expensive than what I currently pay. If I get accepted, I would do some sort of cost-benefit shenanigans to help decide whether or not I want to stay around an extra semester or two. I think formal the double concentration (A.B.\S.B.) requires you to stay a fifth year anyways. In the back of my mind I want to take up the challenge. But I don’t want to dive to deep into the potential academic paths I could have at Brown until I have an acceptance letter in my hands. I am afraid that I may come up with a plan that can’t be done anywhere else…

I visited Brown twice earlier this year in the month of February; it truly is a unique and wonderful place.

@TheGoldFinch, GiantPeach

I submitted mine around 11:30EST, and it says 3/2

for Kangarooooo, I am going through the EXACT same thing!!! :-/ I understand exactly what you are talking about!! Oh, Brown, how I crave you!!! lol

Oh, and Kangaroooo, what school do you currently attend and why do you want to transfer?

@ okm1ijn-- What school do you currently go to that’s more expensive than Brown? That’s so crazy to me.

the school that I currently go to is more expensive than Brown as well…A LOT more expensive…

@ mouse9020-- What school do you go to? Brown is ~ $55k/ year. That seems pretty darn expensive to me.

I remember a few College Pamphlets with total costs of $60,000 or more a year.

Brown would be another 15 grand a year or so for me…

NYU. My dorm alone is 19,000 a year :(.
