My GC said that Brown sometimes releases the decisions a day or two earlier than the marked day, so we may actually be hearing back on the 12th or 13th! I don’t know how common this is though, or if they release all or some decisions early.
All decisions are released on the same day.
Ah darn, so hoping to be pleasantly surprised by a decision two days earlier! Oh well.
I was wondering, what’s on the FB group for class of 2021? I’m not on it but I might join if it’s active.
@ricka8 it’s possible that Brown sends out ALL decisions a couple days early. That’s pretty unlikely, though.
I actually don’t think it’s that unlikely, especially considering the trends from similar colleges in the previous years. Penn, yale, washu and a few others released decisions one to two days earlier last year. So hoping that this is the same for brown
@allima oh cool! Do any of you guys know what will pop up if you’re admitted??
Do you guys think the ED acceptance rate will be higher this year than last? It’s been increasing so I wouldn’t see any reason for it to decrease…
@ap012199 Wow I didn’t know it really has gone up a lot recently! I’m sure it will be at least 22% (last year’s acceptance rate), and maybe a 1% raise? Not that it will make much of a difference though…
Anyone know why only 31% of the accepted pool from ED is of color, while in total its 47% color for the class of 2020? Does that mean it may be easier to be accepted ED than regular if you are white (since fewer people of colored apply ED)?
@ricka8 it’s honestly probably because of the wage gap between whites and people of color. Because ED applicants don’t get an FA package before they commit, many applicants that apply ED have the money to pay if the FA doesn’t go their way.
I had an interview with a 2016 graduate and it was a really fun and animated conversation that lasted an hour and a half… but I’m reading on here that a lot of people were told things like “you’d be a great fit for Brown” and stuff like that but she didn’t say anything remotely like that to me-- should I be worried? yikes
@sadb0ys I don’t think you should be worried. Mine went pretty much the same although it was a bit shorter because it was the day before Thanksgiving and I think everyone just wanted to go home to be with their families. My interviewer told my dad that he “should be very proud,” but didn’t mention anything about me being a good fit for the school. I think it just depends on the interviewer.
Also, is anyone else stressing out over this decision and constantly checking the Brown portal for no reason? Because I am.
@hopelessopus12 lol that’s me. I’ve heard stories of people seeing their portals changing b/c they were admitted a few days before the actual decision came out on the portal lol. If Brown releases them early, though, it’ll probably still be after December 10th.
Hi guys, I have a question about interviews again. My interviewer wants to interview me via skype on December 2nd, but I heard interview reports are due the day before. Would the interview be considered with my application by then?
@sadb0ys Everyone on this forum is a good fit for Brown because we know we’ll succeed there as ED applicants. Don’t fret about no one saying verbatim “You’re a good fit for Brown”
@Seirien I don’t think it would, but I could be wrong. I would ask your interviewer about that.
my interviewer was such a square. ugh. it honestly turned me off to this school, not gonna lie. disappointed.
@freshprinceofcc Yikes, can you tell us what happened that made it so bad? Was your interviewer a recent Brown grad, or a grad student?
My interview went so so so well!! I really hope this boosts my chances at least just a tad
The cornell website says dec 8th is decision day. Aren’t all ivies usually on the same day?
@young177 no, not for ED/EA
