Brown University class of 2021 ED applicants discussion

yeah I could log in too. I assume everyone can if they click the login option for students on the top left - not the one where you have enter username and password

has anyone sent an email to the office of admissions regarding these anomalies? Please share any responses your received

@bayramf Did you try logging in the top left that says “Students and Staff please click here to login to your account”? Not the part below that asks for email and password for authorized users.

Can any of you login to https://get.cbord.com/brown/full/prelogin.php

I can

@Chinaberry it said login successful, but cannot access your campus ______________.

@Seirien my says the same thing

mine brings me to a page about food plans and funds on my account

@brookelr Have you done summer at brown before?

I am not able to log into that account

@Chinaberry yes, @brookelr said they did summer @ brown on past posts!

This is from a completely logical pov, but don’t you all think that Brown would set up our actual student accounts after we committed to the school? They wouldn’t do it for accepted ED students, especially before the results are out. I don’t think logging in and out of websites matters, especially because many people on this thread have an account from Summer at Brown

^that makes sense. especially because some ED students dont go if they realize they can’t pay

@Chinaberry Login successful but we were unable to access your campus card account. Please contact support.

There probably isn’t anything significant with logging to these service accounts. Brown uses Shibboleth for single sign on. So what is happening is that once you can login to one service (application self service), you can probably login to many other services because they all use the same authentication method. Nobody needs to setup separate accounts for different services. However once you login, you probably don’t have any actual services being setup. You are stressing yourself out.

At the outset, good luck to all the students who applied for Brown University Early Decision. As a parent, I am nervous just like other parents who have posted here.THere are lot of speculations going on regarding selections and announcements already made to certain students thru a glitch in the portal. I will check with Admissions office tomorrow and see if there is any truth in it and will post here.

My daugher got 2400 in SAT, 800/800 in subject tests on both Biology, Math level 2. Perfect GPA, ranked top 5 out of 600 in school, applied for PLME. I think the essays were good, done research work for 2 years , shadowed a MD for an year. Yet I am nervous . The posts and speculations have only increased the nervousness of parents like me and hence pls dont speculate. 2 more days everyone will know about it and hence hang in tight. Good luck to all

@vsplme3 - wow, and you are a parent? your point in posting you daughter’s scores and rank other than to brag? You might be claiming to be ‘nervous,’ but it seems like you are looking for a forum to be a classic soccer mom or the dad who stands on the sidelines feeling puffed out with his kid’s touchdown. I would hope that my parents would never feel the need to act like you. Poor kid.

@nero64 …I have been lurking forever and never felt the need to post. You said what I was thinking! Haha. It’s just that kind of obnoxious behavior that causes us all this anxiety. “Wow, look at me and how awesome I am.” I had hoped that by applying to Brown I was not going to be with people like that…this was one of the reasons I chose Brown. I’ve been taught to keep my scores/talents/accomplishments/rank, etc to myself, and that people that put info like that out there are insecure with something to prove. It is sad enough that so many of our peers do it, but really…a parent? That is sad. I hope that I wasn’t wrong in applying to this school. Heck, I may not get in either despite my stats, which I won’t post, but in the event I do, I hope that I will be surrounded more modest types. There are lots of other schools out there for people like that. Perhaps the kid is the opposite of the parent. Interesting.

@nero64 @horselover7 lol i was thinking the same thing too, like thanks now im even more nervous about my chances for plme ugh

If we weren’t all nervous enough. Geez, what am I even doing here? Ugh. I was proud of my scores and stats until now. I think I’m gonna give CC a rest. Making me nuts. Good luck all. I hope that it works out for all of us. If not, we will end up happy somewhere, I am sure
