@transferfox123 , haha I know how you feel. I check my portal every 2 minutes lol.
@DeOppressoLiber , isn’t that Resumed Undergrad Ed? When you haven’t been in school for a few years?

@BatWonder77 yes to an extent, my interpretation:
Resumed Undergraduate Education (RUE) = candidates at 6+ years after secondary school graduation and you have around 1-2 years of college exp. I believe for those enrolled currently under the timeline can transfer or choose RUE.
My case:
After secondary school I attended college for 1.5 years then I joined the military. There was a large gap in formal education due to my service, although I took one class while active duty. I was a Green Beret. In 2011 I was wounded overseas (shot twice), medically retired, and then started my own business. I only applied to Brown RUE this year. I chose a concentration in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations. I felt it suited my family and lifestyle best, as well as the one program that provided the largest opportunity to succeed in my career choice post-college. It also allowed me geographically to focus on my education with a family support network (parents/siblings live in RI).
Have you heard anything back?
Also I imagine there are waivers for timelines on a case by case scenario.
@DeOppressoLiber , damn man what a story. Congrats on making it though! Glad it worked out well for you. And no, I’m as anxious as ever! Should hear back hopefully a bit less than a week from now.
@BatWonder77 thank you. I’m really excited and eager. I wish you the best of luck, hopefully you hear something soon!
Has anyone had any changes on their portals lately?
@transferfox123 , nope but I am getting really worried. I know it isn’t mid-June yet but still. Anyway this is what they say on the undergrad admissions site:
“Brown is currently making wait list offers and will continue to do so on a rolling basis through mid-June”. Any idea what they mean by “through mid-June”?
Also what have any of you guys done in terms of being on the waiting list? I sent them a solid email highlighting my recent achievements and grades while reiterating my interest in the University and “Why Brown?”. Along with that I sent in an extra letter of recommendation from one of my professors. I’m still so nervous knowing decisions are right around the corner! Tbvh Brown’s been a dream school of mine since day one.
Idk if it’s the attachment I had to the place when I visited it a year ago, the fact that my father went there, or just Brown’s great academic Ivy environment. I just hope I become a Brunonian in the next few days. Sorry for the passionate venting haha. Guess I just love the school, even though I don’t go to it. Hopefully that will change!
Every day I think to myself that today could be the day we find out. Every phone call I get, every new e-mail I receive, for a split second I wonder if it is Brown-decision-related. Every time.
Still have hope, my Brown-hopeful brethren! I just reviewed some old CC threads for Brown 2013 waitlistees and people received phone calls up from 06/14 through 06/17. Just thought I’d share!
@jmurphs1993 , I know how you feel! I’m pretty much doing the same thing haha. Thanks for the info though!
@BatWonder77 I was on the wait list also and I imagine I did some things outside the box, and said things not commonly stated. I think you need to do what your heart tells ]you to do, even if it’s outside the scope of prior waitlistees and give them that passionate venting!
I think Monday is the day!!
I had that feeling too.
I’m somewhat scared by reading some of the older threads. There are some years they didn’t take anyone off the wait list, whereas other years they take a handful. I hope it’s the latter this year.
bump Hopefully we get some notification or confirmation today but has anyone tried calling them to check in on what they plan on doing??
@BatWonder77 I called on Friday (after 2pm), and they told me they could tell me any decisions yet. The admissions officer told me that all I could do was to wait for them to contact me. They didn’t even ask for my name or anything.
@transferfox123 , did you ask for an estimate date and time? I’m getting really impatient now haha.
Nope, I tried to get a date out of her, and she just said they could give waitlist offers until late June.
I really don’t want to wait that long. I wonder if anyone’s got off the wait list yet.
Eep. I hate waiting.
