I thought I was the only one taking my course ("Reading, Writing, and Public Speaking- my dad's idea) because no one on this site or the facebook groups has mentioned it at all...until I went on the course catalog and realized it had become waitlist only.

I'm sure that if you were the only one, it would have been cancelled by now. My alternate course was cancelled a few days ago, so I'm guessing all cancellations have been done or are going to be done in the next few days.

good question! For the people who have already gone - what did you bring, and how many people are in each course? The only description is that the courses are 'small'

I definetely doubt that an ice cream social is going to be formal. I might miss it! My flight is scheduled to get in at 7:42, so I only have 25 minutes to get my baggage and find the shuttle, otherwise I'll have to wait an hour for the next shuttle. I haven't been on a domestic flight for like 4 years, so I'm not sure how long it will take to get luggage, but I sure hope it's fast! The social starts at 7:30, so if I do everything right, I should be able to make it. Sure hope I can! I lovvvvvveee ice cream!

I guess the leadership thing is probably more organized...like with mini-courses, it's 3-hours a day and then you're free...I think the leaderships are like all day planned out for you. They sounded pretty cool to me.

Hey! I'm going from July 15th-Aug 3rd.. I'm trying to decide whether to switch my class to Abnormal Psychology and Psychopathology or High School as a Social Laboratory: An Introduction to Sociology .. help? They both sound really interesting to me!

Does anyone know how to check the status of your deposit? I'm worried that somehow it didn't get through... also, when do you have to pay the actual course fee?

and i was wondering about that too... i got an e-mail two days ago asking me why i didn't pay yet but it's too late now so they told me to bring in a check for when i check into the dorm

I just found out that if you come after 6 PM, you have to stay in a temporary dorm until the next day! Not that it's a huge deal, but it's a little depressing because I'm not going to pick out my bed or meet my roomate(s). I'm going to be there at like 8...I understand not letting you get your course info and stuff, but I don't see why you can't at least get your bed if you let them know ahead of time. Oh well. It'll still be cool.

I began this thread over a year ago... Glad to see it's still going strong!

I had a great summer at Brown -- So great that I wrote one of my college essays about it, and now I'm preparing for Penn this fall, which I couldn't be more excited about!

I hope everyone has as rewarding an experience at Brown as I did!
