C in Pre-Calc?

I'm hoping to be accepted to UF and major in English Education. If I got a C in Pre-Calc and Spanish 3
-junior (next year senior)
-GPA 3.39 (unweighted) and 4.71 (weighted)
-5 APs this year and 5 next year
-SAT: 1960
-planning to take ACT
-120 service hours
-will apply to: UF, FSU, UNF, USF
-anchor service club all four years, rowing all four years, PEER for two, and I tutored in Japan for a month during the summer
Have I ruined my chances? Or am I just paranoid?

How do you have a 3.39 unweighted but 4.71 weighted. makes no sense. I realize every HS is different but I’ve never seen that large of a spread before.
Your SAT score look good for those schools. Go to collegedata dot com for details on each school.
If your an English Ed major, don’t sweat your pre-calc grade.

Thanks! The GPA weighted is based on honor points as well as grades and I’ve had all honors throughout high school. Also AP classes add weight of which I had 5 this year.

The C’s by themselves are not the problem, it’s your unweighted GPA 3.39 that makes UF a low reach. To find your UF weighted GPA, give +0.5 points to honor classes and +1.0 points to AP/IB/AICE/DE classes. Your weighted GPA will likely be around a 3.8 to 4.0.

The middle 50% GPA for 2013 UF freshman where between a 4.1 to 4.4. UF does use holistic admissions, and folks with lower GPA’s than yours do get in, but you should still treat UF as a low reach.

FSU is a high match/match, while UNF and USF are matches. You may qualify for some merit aid at UNF or USF, but it would have been more likely if your uw GPA was 3.5 or higher. Still, apply early to UNF and USF, as they do rolling admissions and you should be accepted and know your merit aid offer by late November. Both schools are solid safeties for UF/FSU.

Good Luck!
