I have a question about the Cal Grants. I am a California resident, and I am transferring to UCSD for fall 2012. Today, I found that I am not qualified for Transfer Entitlement Awards because I finished my high school out side of California. I also wasn't a California resident when I finished my high school. My question is am I still qualified for Cal grant A or B?

Maybe you could qualify for the competitive grant? I don’t think the competitive grant requires that you finish HS/be a CA resident at time of graduation. I’m having the same issue though, except they didn’t straight away disqualify me, just put my grant “on hold”.

“Cal Grant A and B Competitive Awards are for students who aren’t eligible for the Entitlement awards. The main difference is that these awards are not guaranteed.”
