Looks like Cal Poly’s applicant system is down. It is a technical failure on the their application. IT organization should be busy to fix it.
I read somewhere on the CP website today that they do routine maintenance on Wednesdays at 8:00pm should we ever encounter an error message during that time.
Maintenance.
I have heard that they are doing maintenance.
cal poly should at least have some sort of pattern to releasing these decisions, all of us who haven’t heard back yet are left feeling confused and like we’ve been rejected
I totally agree!
could mean that we were actually rejected
Hope not
I was excited when I found out I got accepted to UCR Pre-business program but now I am disappointed that I have not heard anything from SLO (applied for business administration). I honestly thought my stat is pretty solid for both schools but I guess it’s harder to get in SLO…Am I wrong?
My portal still says, “Thank you for applying to Cal Poly. We have received your application. No determination has been made at this time.” ANYONE ELSE HAVE THAT MESSAGE? LOL wait i didnt get any maintenance thingy
yes
Daughter just got accepted into communicative studies in college of liberal arts. I know this is a great school for engineering but has anyone had experience with this major or another non technical major? Thanks
What time did you hear? Congrats!
My son is a junior English major at Cal Poly. He has very much enjoyed his time in SLO, and as a high school English teacher myself, I can say that he is receiving very good instruction. I often share his assignments and essays with my colleagues who are gleaning ideas and strategies for improving our own instruction. It has been a very good experience for him.
I think one of the biggest factors is that since the school prides itself on being a Polytechnic, it has set high standards across the board, especially in developing functional, practical skills useful in the real world. Even in “soft” majors like English, there is a welcome streak of functionality in the writing and reading skills they are developing. This isn’t the “sit outside and listen to the wind” writing curriculum that I sometimes ran into when in college (although, truth be told, there is much value in such activities).
One added perk is that my son is now getting a minor in Agriculture (Fruit Sciences, specifically). There aren’t many schools where he could study such a combination of skill sets taught at such a high level. How many English majors get to walk the fields or drive a tractor as part of their normal school week?
There have been 5 architecture acceptances here and a couple on reddit that are international. You can use the magnifying glass next to the page numbers to search. We are waiting also, OOS.
No.
Just because you have not heard anything does NOT mean you wont get in!!! They are sending out acceptances throughout the month
SLO is going to be in the same competitive range as UCSD, UCI, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara–especially true for the engineering school majors and undergrad business (because only UCB, UCI and UCR offer undergrad business). San Diego State’s business school is also quite competitive for this reason. UCR has a solid business program and remember that its not necessarily where you go, but what you do once you get there that matters.
I have not seen anyone posted for Microbiology. Does SLO release by major? All of my daughter’s friends from her school have heard from SLO, so she is starting to stress out. Even people with lower GPA and fewer AP classes have gotten in. Should we start worrying? I thought her stats are solid: UW GPA 4.0, Weighted 4.4 (10th & 11th only), 9 AP classes (5 in senior year), including Calculus B/C, Physics, Chemistry, Env. Science, and Biology. SAT 1370.
Are we expecting more decisions to be released today?
