@eyemgh I just redid it using the netlify calculator, and now have 4899. We don’t have any of the added bonus points you mentioned. For ACT, he does have 800 CR, 780 M, 10 semesters of math, 8 lab science and 8 english, 6 foreign language, 6 VPA. 10 hours work week, related to major, and 20 extra curricular, including a leadership role. GPA is 4.25 according to Cal Poly application. Does this new MCA (4899)sound about right?
@trustworthy, yep. Assuming no mistakes in the application, and I could be wrong, but I would assume that would get him into math.
Is 4771 MCA good enough for computer engineering instate? Thanks a lot for chancing me!

The MCA threshold could change depending upon this year’s applicant stats but you look within range for an acceptance.
Best of luck.
Any idea what the range of MCA scores for Industrial Technology might be?
@EAM1989: you can search this thread.
Thanks! I only saw one and I know it is a small major so hard to find stats.
@EAM1989: Unfortunately not all applicants list their stats or MCA. You could look at the 2018 thread also to see if there are any IT posts.

My GPA is low does Cal poly care about that as long as the MCA is high?
I also have an upward trend if that helps 3.0 to 4.5 in my junior year.
@jpp206: You look competitive for EESS. Below are some MCA point scores from last year as a comparison. The majority of the MCA points come from your SLO GPA and test scores, so a lower GPA can be offset by a higher test score(s).

@Gumbymom I appreciate your feedback!! Good stuff to hear!! Hopefully things go well and Cal Poly pulls through!!
I am a current Cal Poly freshman majoring in biological sciences. I shockingly was accepted in March last year with a 4.1 GPA and 1120 SAT w/ MCA around 4200. My sister will be applying this year for fall 2021, does anyone know what MCA score is needed to get into Wine & Vit Major? I have looked on previous threads but have only found 2?
any insight as to when decisions will be released? i know it’ll be before march 1st, but i’ve heard everything form the 14th to 28th
@jaypearows last year people who got in heard back right at the end of the month into the very beginning of March. Rejections and waitlists usually follow a week or two after.
@jaypearows
Last year, the out of state applicants were notified of acceptance the last couple days of February. In state applicants were notified of acceptance the first few days of March.
@Gumbymom Care to chance my daughter for architecture. OOS and MCA of 4557 - thank you!
@jaypearows, Mid-February to early March have been the release dates range the last few years. When the notifications start, they come out in clusters according to each of the six colleges. My son was notified on February 17th in 2017, but last year, the same major wasn’t notified of acceptances until the first week of March. Since my daughter is a current applicant, and her major was notified March 3rd last year, I am circling the first week of March as the expected notification dates. If notices come earlier, cool. It’s really all just “guestimating” at this point anyway.
