^^ You are much more competitive to SLO if you have completed all the courses required at the time you hit submit on the application. This gives you more points than a high GPA or anything else on the application does. It’s unfortunate the way SLO evaluates transfer applications, but that is why people who had all classes already done but with lower GPAs have been accepted over those with seemingly better stats. It’s on their website.

I’m in the same boat. Had I known this beforehand, I would have finished those major pre-reqs last year instead of spreading them out. I only have two left (one finished in fall, one more this semester) but I’m almost positive that is what hurt my application.

I got wait listed yesterday for business administration. I only need 1 more class which I am taking right now and I have a 3.9gpa. I’m a little worried now that the two other schools (sdsu, fresno state) might refuse me. I don’t understand their selection process for transfer students.

I am beyond disappointed with my numerous emails and no response from Cal Poly! But at least I got into the University of Oregon so congrats to everyone who got in Cal Poly!

Been keeping a close eye on this thread for awhile now; may as well contribute.
Biz Admin
Waitlisted on Monday, March 3rd.
Every single pre-req finished before applying and an AS-T and IGETC certification completed as well.
3.8 GPA.
Pacific Islander.
Guess it’s better than an outright rejection tho!

Does anyone know how many come off the waitlist?

My son was REJECTED for Bus Admin today. Checked portal at noon 3/10. 3.78 GPA, all IGETC complete, only had 1 major class not complete . We are really bummed - he has always wanted to go to CP - top choice. Still waiting on SDSU and UC’s.

Rejected today 3/10/14, for EE at 3:00 PM, did not get an email. Just checked the portal out of curiosity, was disappointed. I’m going to start the appeal letter.
